8th & Roast - 8th Ave
2108 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN
Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused roastery on 8th Ave has carved out a beloved spot in Nashville's coffee culture with genuinely excellent beans and a beautifully renovated space that somehow manages to feel both spacious and intimately cozy with its exposed brick bones. The crew here has earned serious loyalty through their warmth and skill—whether you're ordering a pour over, catching up on work, or recovering from a spilled latte (they'll smile while helping you clean it up)—making it the kind of neighborhood third place where regulars naturally congregate. Just bring a sweater, because they keep it brisk in there.”

I'm a neighborhood guy and a coffee shop regular. Most mornings, on the way to work, you can find me somewhere having a cup of coffee, answering e-mails, or otherwise preparing for my day. 8th & Roast, in 8th Avenue (the original location), is the perfect spot for a quick morning meeting with a colleague, a quiet cup of coffee while you plan your day, or place to land for a bit to get some work done. The coffee is fantastic. Latte, cortado, cappuccino, or a cup of their roast. All good. The food, breakfast and lunch, is great, too. Lastly, the service is top notch. Friendly, kind hearted, experienced baristas that care about making a good cup of coffee and making you feel welcome.
Good coffee! Great beans. The oat milk lattes are often flat unfortunately. The renovation feels more spacious! It is just always sooo cold. They have 3 big ac units set to 64!! Like… that’s crazy the floor is concrete and the walls are brick so it’s very hard, sharp, cold and uncomfortable. Why would you make a coffee shop so cold? Weird because the other location on charlotte is incredibly cozy and bright.
One of my favorites atmospheres of any coffee shop in Nashville. Beautiful space and amazing coffee. Hard to beat this location!
Great vibe, absolutely fabulous staff (they were 5 stars BEFORE I spilled my latte everywhere and they helped me clean it up with a smile and made me a fresh latte!). The bacon egg and cheese croissant was great too! If I ever go back, the cinnamon rolls looked amazing…
I recently visited this delightful coffee place and was instantly hooked by its old small downtown charm. The exposed brick walls and cozy, compact setup gave it a nostalgic, urban feel that made it a perfect escape. The light roast drip coffee was fantastic—bright, flavorful, and expertly brewed, hitting all the right notes for me. The atmosphere was spot-on, lively enough to feel inviting but never chaotic. My only complaint was the lack of outdoor seating—there wasn’t much room to soak in the surroundings outside. I also wished they had heavy cream on hand; I love that thick, smooth texture it brings without piling on sugar. Even so, the stellar coffee and that classic downtown vibe make this a spot I’d gladly revisit.
