Crema's Take

This Philadelphia favorite is as much about the experience as the coffee—a cozy, game-filled gathering spot where you'll find everything from traditional espresso drinks to creative seasonal specials, all paired with solid food like vegan chorizo tacos and indulgent cinnamon bun french toast. The real magic is in the atmosphere: it's the kind of place where friends linger over board games, solo visitors feel welcomed, and the vibe consistently brings people back. Just note that service can be inconsistent, so manage expectations, but when things click here, it's genuinely special.

Got the Pesto Chicken Sandwich. It had a hair. Thats yuck. Ok mistakes happen. When I complained to them the answer was ‘Ok’. No refund offered. They said I had to comeback in person to complain with the Hair-sandwich. Mistakes happen - how you provide the experience to help your customers matter. Bad experience.

Wow, I love this place and definitely want to come back! The variety of games is amazing (you will find something for any group of people, or even solo). The place’s atmosphere is super cozy, too, and you can even enjoy your meal in there without playing games (you also won’t have to pay the game fee). Anyway I highly recommend the Oreo milkshake and the food is delicious!

I feel a bit bad admitting it but we honestly didn't have super high expectations when we visited tonight, not because of anything to do with the Board and Brew, but simply because other similar establishments we've been to in the past have been more gimmick than substance. However, we were all thrilled that not only does the Board and Brew have a super chill vibe and a huge variety of interesting board games you can play for a small per-person fee (one fee covers all the games), but most importantly (to me), the food was awesome! The Swiss and arugula melt, the fried maitake mushroom burger, and the pork belly and fried egg sandwich were all fantastic, as were the Old Bay fries. The Oreo milkshake and spiced apple cake were also really good. We weren't initially planning to game tonight but a flash flood warning prompted us to stay in a while and not travel, so we busted out a game and had a great time learning it for an hour or two till they closed. I hope to come visit again, either for a meal or even just for a drink or a dessert and a chill evening of board games.

I always love coming to The Board and Brew- they’ve got great drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. Whenever I go I have a great time. It’s nice to play games and be around others having fun. Their board game selection is EXTENSIVE. You’ll never be board (get it?). Whether you like fun and lighthearted or more serious games, they have something for you. They’ve got card games, scary games, family games, space themed games, train themed games, cooperative games, competitive games, and more. They even have their own system to help you pick a game based on what you’re looking for. Coming with friends is a great time! They have space indoors and outdoors which is nice. I haven’t had their food, and I personally would love to see more gluten free options, though they do have some, but the drinks are really good! Their chocolate cherry latte for Valentine’s Day is out of this world! I am a super huge fan, so much that I miss it throughout the rest of the year. If I’m in the area I stop by just for a drink. In addition to good drinks, games, and vibes, their staff is great. Every waiter, waitress, and server I’ve had has been kind, friendly, cool, and attentive.
