Speedboat Coffee

Crema's Take
“Speedboat Coffee is a rare find that executes both stellar coffee and genuinely crave-worthy breakfast food with equal skill, earning its stellar reputation among Portland coffee lovers. The vibe here is deliberately laid-back and welcoming—think soft bagels, friendly staff, and the real possibility of petting someone's dog while you linger over your cup—making it feel less like a quick caffeine stop and more like a genuine community gathering spot. Whether you're a coffee devotee or just passing through town, the combination of thoughtfully made drinks, excellent pastries and breakfast sandwiches, and that unforced warmth keeps people coming back.”

Sweet space with friendly staff. I had the vegan sunrise and the vegan chai and both were delicious! The vegan sunrise is on a nice soft bagel so it's easy to eat.
Amazing food and coffee! It can be tough to find a coffee shop that does both coffee and food well, but Speedboat does it all. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in PDX!
I'm not a big coffee drinker but I was visiting from out of town and made a quick stop here. The coffee was great, the service was very friendly and quick, and the breakfast sandwich was extremely delicious!
Today was my first time at their new location. I love their coffee and will always give them my business. The new digs are clean and more open with a very modern aesthetic. The coffee is as good as ever! Unfortunately, it was not the experience I was hoping for. I was overwhelmed by how loud it is- nobody was being loud, just the acoustics of the room are such that when there are several people speaking at normal volume it’s incredibly loud. So loud that my partner and I had to put our faces right by each others ear’s and yell a bit to be heard. We couldn’t even hear when our drinks were ready. I was also really hoping for a more cozy space, somewhere inviting where I could come get snacks and coffee and read my book- instead they have steel chairs and hardwood benches, nothing even with a cushion, leaving me feeling very uninvited to spend much time there. Overall, still 5 stars, but I really really really hope they will consider doing something about the acoustics and getting some more comfortable seating.
