What to expect

I’m honestly not a coffee person at all, so walking into Yemerica Cafe with a large group of my family, I wasn’t sure what to expect. We came in together as a big party and had reserved their private room. Right away, the host impressed us. He quickly cleaned and prepared the reservation room, making sure everything was organized and comfortable for our group. Within minutes, we were seated and settled in. For a large family gathering, that kind of efficiency and hospitality makes a huge difference. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — the kind of place you can actually relax in. It’s not just a quick coffee stop; it feels like a true hangout spot where you can sit, talk, laugh, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. For families especially, that matters. One of the first things that caught our attention was their cake display. They have a large selection of fresh cakes, beautifully presented and clearly made with care. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!), we all dug in so quickly that I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo of them. That alone should tell you something. When desserts disappear before pictures are taken, you know they’re good. Each slice was fresh, moist, and full of flavor. Everyone at the table kept passing plates around so we could try different varieties. Since I’m not a coffee drinker, I was unsure what to order. The young man at the front was extremely helpful and recommended I try their iced date drink. I’m so glad I listened. It was absolutely delicious. It wasn’t too strong with coffee flavor, and it wasn’t overly sweet either. It was perfectly balanced — smooth, refreshing, and just right for my liking. For someone who usually avoids coffee shops, this drink completely changed my expectations. It felt thoughtful, like they truly wanted to make sure I enjoyed my experience even though I’m not their typical customer. What stood out most, beyond the food and drinks, was the hospitality. Our large group was accommodated with patience and kindness. No one felt rushed, and the staff checked in just enough to make sure we were comfortable without interrupting our conversations. Overall, Yemerica Cafe is more than just a cafe — it’s a welcoming space for friends and family to gather. Great service, delicious desserts, thoughtful recommendations, and a comfortable environment make it a place I will definitely recommend. Even as someone who isn’t a coffee person, I found something I truly enjoyed. I’ll absolutely be coming back here again with my family.
My boyfriend and I love this place!! We are both college students so we like to come here and do our schoolwork. I love to try new drinks everytime we come. I love their refreshers, my favorite is the lemon mint refresher, its so good!! Their lattes are also really good, they have so much flavor! For pastries we love the bee bites. The cream cheese paired with the soft breads and honey tastes amazing. The owner of the place is very nice, there was one time we went and they had ran out of my favorite refresher, it wasn’t a big deal to me but the owner was kind enough to give me a different drink and a pastry on him. I wasn’t expecting that at all but we were very thankful. Overall we really love this place but we just wish there were more power outlets. The power outlets are all in one corner of the cafe and some of them don’t work unfortunately. If you want to use this as a place as a study spot I would just keep that in mind. It can also become very loud and crowded especially on weekends and at night. Its a nice spot to catch up with friends or just study or work. This place is definitely popular for a reason!
This place is great, the coffee is top notch and the flavor combos and inspiring. Sweet treats are excellent as well, everything I’ve tried has exceeded expectations.
While in West Hartford Center, we decided to try the first Yemeni coffee house in Connecticut! We were impressed by the hand painted murals and nice seating options, as well as the bakery case with sweet and savory options. Both iced and hot lattes were great, and the traditional Yemeni coffee was fun to try. It’s nice that they have a room you can reserve for meetings or studying too. We would definitely come back on future trips to the area and are so glad to know of an authentic Yemeni coffee shop!
Yemerica Coffee is an amazing spot for authentic Yemeni flavors. I tried the Abu Walad Latte – a bit sweet, but absolutely delicious and so smooth. The coffee here is rich and aromatic, with unique options you won’t find anywhere else. Their pastries are fresh, flavorful, and pair perfectly with the drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to relax or meet friends. Definitely a must-visit for coffee and dessert lovers!
