Crema's Take
“This beloved Starland bookshop seamlessly merges the quiet pleasure of browsing new reads with the comfort of specialty coffee through its thoughtful partnership with neighboring Foxy Loxy Cafe. The wide, airy space feels inviting and unhurried—perfectly designed for lingering over a book and a cup, whether you're a devoted reader seeking your next favorite or someone who simply wants to slow down in a clean, warmly curated environment. It's the kind of place where browsing books, sipping something well-made, and striking up a conversation with fellow book lovers feels like the most natural thing in the world.”

E. Shaver, Starland is a delightful spot for book lovers and anyone looking to unwind with a good read. Located near Foxy Loxy Cafe, the bookstore has a unique setup—there’s a connected door to the café’s outdoor area, so you can easily grab your coffee from Foxy Loxy and bring it into the bookstore to continue reading. I decided to try something different and bought a CBD-infused kombucha directly from the bookstore, and it was amazing—refreshing and calming, the perfect companion for browsing the shelves. E. Shaver, Starland also hosts regular book club sessions, adding a welcoming community feel to the space. Whether you're looking to join a discussion or just enjoy a peaceful afternoon, this bookstore offers the perfect environment.
Nestled between The Gingerbread House & Foxy Loxy, E. Shaver, Starland is a great place to browse for a new book to read or gift for someone. Well appointed, clean, and airy, I enjoy looking at the displays and reading the staff reviews of books. The book store can be entered from the front or from the garden at Foxy Loxy. Recommended.
Just for context, the picture I took is a view of the shop facing Bull St. It's wide and open to be a bit more inviting- like an open-styled coffee shop for a quick sit-down. They do serve drinks here (a tad pricey) so it's not a hassle to have to walk next door to Foxy (although their back door access allows for easy walk through between the two). They do have variety and the books are all current releases and publications. The hallway is littered with some goods and kid's toys outside of the reads in the main space.
The cutest bookshop! The store was so clean and neatly organized. I had requested a fresh copy of a Frankenstein they had on display, and they shipped it all the way to Massachusetts in the cutest wrapping paper. They're so thoughtful and it shows they really care to deliver quality books and service to their clients.
Great new bookstore with a warm and welcoming feel. I’m so excited for this new partnership between E. Shaver and Foxy Loxy. What a perfect space to check out a new book with a great cup of coffee.
