Crema's Take

Black Line is a bright, welcoming spot in Harvard Heights where the staff genuinely cares about making your visit special—the young baristas offer thoughtful suggestions and remember details like oat milk preferences. Beyond their stellar traditional espresso drinks, they're earning a loyal following for creative signature beverages like the chagacinno (a mushroom cappuccino) and honey vanilla latte, all served in a modern space decorated with local art that's equally perfect for working solo or lingering over coffee with friends. The combination of ample parking, a nice patio, fresh pastries, and a real sense of community makes this one of those rare coffee shops that feels genuinely inviting rather than just transactional.

Young man at register was great! Made me feel welcomed and even offered suggestions because it was my first time. I tried the chagacinno it was a delicious mushroom cappuccino. There is also so much great artwork in the parking lot!

Very cool coffee shop with local art. The honey vanilla latte and the tiramisu latte are great! Helpful and friendly staff! Good size parking lot.

Great new coffee shop in Harvard Heights. Bright and modern space, with lots of tables if you want to post up and get some work done. I ordered an iced chagachino oatmilk late, skipped the pastries but there were lots of options. Noticed they have a nice tea selection including matcha. Noticed they host events which indicates they are very much intending to be a communal space for the area. Will return for sure!

So the place that use to be here before had some of the best coffee I've had in LA. I'm sad to see that it's gone but the place looks nicer and much more friendly environment for sitting and hanging out. The service is slow and somewhat more rude, which is a shock since the last place didn't have the best customer service either. I just came her for their crazy good coffee. Blackline seems okay, average at best to me. Not sure how they have 5 stars. What I do like is that their Mocha was not bad, not as good as the previous owners but still good. I give this a 3 star because of customer service is blah and they didn't have much of a selection of roasted coffee to buy in bags. Would I come back, sure if I wanted a chill place to hang, but I think I'll look around for a tastier roaster.

Love this new coffee place in my neighborhood. The space is very inviting and the patio is nice. We shared two food items: the breakfast bagel sandwich and the almond croissant. The pastry was fresh and tasty and I was amazed to see my barista frying up bacon in a pan - so many places give you something pre-wrapped and warmed up these days. I had their golden chai and it was delicious. The service was friendly and the whole place felt comfortable, like a coffee shop you could stay at all afternoon while you read a book or work on your laptop. I will definitely be back soon!
