Crema's Take

Nestled in Wilmington, The Roasted Bookery is a rare gem where excellent coffee meets curated books, thoughtful gifts, and a genuine sense of community—owners Erin and Jerry have cultivated a space that feels both intellectually nourishing and deeply welcoming. Beyond the reliable traditional drinks, this is where locals linger for watercolor classes, meaningful conversations, and events that celebrate diverse voices, all while feeling completely supported by staff who treat kindness as seriously as they treat their brew. Whether you're settling in with a laptop for the afternoon or joining a workshop, you'll find yourself in one of those magical spaces where you leave feeling a little more like yourself.

I visited The Roasted Bookery for an evening sip and paint watercolor class. It was comfortable and welcoming; everyone was friendly and relaxed. We each created two simple but attractive watercolors. The combination of snacks, meeting new people, and a gentle activity was perfect for me!

I love this shop! Erin and Jerry are two of the kindest people we know, and the shop itself has a wide variety of books and is so welcoming and inclusive. They also host so many cool events all the time!

We love this fantastic bookstore and its fantastic owners! Jerry and Erin work hard to provide an inclusive space that honors truth and uplifts voices that have too often been overlooked. They work not only to create community, but find ways to give back to the community. We love the variety of events they pack their calendar with, and especially the effort they make to create opportunities for tweens and teens. Our son has loved the monthly D&D sessions. And while I haven't actually made it to a book club meeting yet, I have really enjoyed reading the books each month. They also carry the best candles, stickers, totes, and other items- often made by local artists. Thanks Jerry and Erin for sharing your vision and your passions with us!
