Babe's Cafe

Crema's Take
“Babe's is a beloved neighborhood spot where owner Paula and her warm team craft some of the capital region's best egg sandwiches—soft, buttery hard rolls paired with perfectly fried eggs and flavorful sausage—all served in an unpretentiously charming space that somehow draws everyone from locals to the police department. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely breakfast with home fries that locals rave about, the genuine hospitality and homemade comfort food make this small Cohoes cafe feel like a gathering place for the whole community.”

Second time visiting. Such a great place...very friendly atmosphere. The owner, Paula, could not be any more welcoming. The food is delicious, home fries were some of the best around! Breakfast until 11 a.m. Wednesday thru Friday and until 1 pm Saturday and Sunday. Closed Monday & Tuesday.
Im sorry but the staff was rude and how do you mess up pancakes. Waitress tried to give us drinks we didn't order yet forgot other drinks. Toast was nasty (again how do you mess up toast). Oh and dont go on the weekend if you want lunch, they dont serve it on weekends. Forces you to eat crappy version of breakfast. Do they tell you this anywhere? Nope they only list it hidden on the menu. Once again trapped because you've already been sat down for 10 mins. And they are just rude about telling you. I will never go back, and I urge others to take your business elsewhere!
Babes might have one of the best egg sandwiches in the capital region. The hard roll is soft and buttery, the eggs are fried to perfection, and the sausage patty is packed with flavor. Their home fries are also crispy and well-seasoned. The service was so friendly too. If you ever find yourself in Cohoes, make sure to stop by here for a bite!
We ended up stopping for brunch based on a friend's observation that he always sees the local PD eating here. They were spot on! For a small space, they can pack in a good number of people. We arrived on a Saturday, around 11:15. It was busy and we had to wait 5 minutes for a table to be cleaned off. Service was friendly and efficient. Our food was great! Flavorful and hot. We also loved the coffee mugs-the old thick white ones that help keep your coffee Hot! We will definitely go back!
Love the two ladies that run this restaurant! They were so bubbly, fun and accommodating. My boyfriend and I each got a special, I got the meatball torpedo with fries and he got the chili - both were AMAZING. Definitely want to come back another time to get breakfast because we've heard great things about it. The dining area is very quaint and comfortable. We both highly recommend this location, and we can't wait to come back for more.
