The Bearded Baker
8 Saint Marks Pl, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This cozy Brooklyn spot excels at high-quality, meticulously crafted pastries and fresh baked goods that draw consistent praise, though pricing can feel steep for portion sizes. The vibe leans toward a leisurely sit-down experience where you can linger with thoughtfully made coffee and standout items like their macarons and scones, though be prepared that service consistency and staff demeanor can vary. If you're after genuinely fresh, artisanal baking paired with specialty drinks in an intimate setting, it's worth a visit—just manage expectations around portion value and go in on a good day.”

The rainbow cookie (vegan) is good and tastes like cake. I would not spend $13.06 again for half a portion (smallest available). I hope they did give me the vegan version since my stomach really bothered me after I ate it.
We would not recommend this establishment. The man behind the counter was rude! They only had two kinds of scones. I should have just left with the poor customer service but we purchased both flavors and were not impressed at all. They were dry and lacked flavor. We took our business to another scone spot about 10 minutes away and hands down delicious scones and the customer service was amazing. We would never come back here again.
I think it may be just my personal preference, but these cookies were not my favorites. The rainbow cookie was okay, not the worst, but not anything special. The chocolate chip cookie was too sweet for me and definitely underbaked. Not sure if it was just this batch, but it was almost inedible bc of how underbaked it was. I shared this cookie with others and they all agreed. The blueberry and apple pie cookie saved this place for me. A balanced and chewy cookie. Pretty nice, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. Service was efficient.
A hidden gem!! Very FRESH, high quality baked goods and coffee. The macaron (half shown as I couldn’t wait to take a bite) was delicious and the texture was amazing. Same with the scone -I tried a blueberry peach scone. Great combo and very friendly staff! Looking forward to going back.
First of all, great customer service. I had a surgery recently and have had a hard time opening doors for myself bc I’m not supposed to lift anything heavy for a few weeks. When I stopped by, I was unsure of what to do because the door was closed and too heavy for me. I walked around the block before deciding to call and ask if they could open the door for me while I am in there. The woman of the phone was very nice and came and opened the door for me when I got there and when I left. I understand it’s a kind of awkward and strange request, but I appreciate their help since I’ve been very limited in what I have been able to do physically. I imagine that they would also be kind and helpful for people who are more than just temporarily disabled, which is unfortunately not always easy to encounter! Now on to the desserts. I ordered the lemon bar cookie and half a dozen macarons. They were all delicious !!!!! I LOVEEEE LEMON BARS. lol. And to have it in cookie form is very dangerous. Very addictive. I did not want to put the cookie down. And it was the perfect lemon flavor. Very gooey and tangy in the middle. The best part was that she had just finished making the batch and the cookies were so fresh!! I also LOVE macarons and was excited to try out their flavors. I haven’t finished my half dozen yet, but so far, I have loved the churro (my favorite), orange, and plum flavors. Sadly, when I arrived, she had just finished making the mango crème brûlée for the next day. I was totally bummed that I couldn’t try it out! I am already looking forward to coming back again!! 😍😩🙂↔️❤️🔥
