Crema's Take

This Seattle spot celebrates South Indian street food with a modern, light-filled atmosphere that feels both homey and intentional—perfect for lingering over a specialty drink or catching up with friends. While consistency remains a work in progress, the standout dishes like their Misal Pav (packed with spicy sprouts and plant-based protein) and authentic aloo parantha suggest real potential for anyone seeking elevated vegetarian fare that doesn't sacrifice flavor for health. The kind, considerate service and rotating monthly specials hint at a team genuinely invested in creating something special, even as they're still finding their footing with traditional recipes.

Lacks Authenticity and Consistency! I recently visited this restaurant, and the experience was quite disappointing. • Food (Rajma): The taste was not authentic. Specifically, the Rajma was made with small red beans rather than traditional kidney beans. When we shared this feedback, the experience with the staff was a mixed bag. A Black female staff member was unfortunately quite rude and dismissive, insisting we were wrong. It is frustrating to be lectured on the definition of Rajma as a Punjabi person. Conversely, a white female staff member was very polite and professional throughout the interaction. • Puran Poli: While the presentation on steel plates looks traditional, the flavor is decent at best and lacks the authentic taste one would expect. • Chai: This was particularly disappointing. Rather than traditional brewed chai, they seem to serve spice-flavored lattes and mislabel them as Ginger or Masala chai. Advice to Management: You have some team members who are very courteous, but others require better training in customer service. Please encourage your staff to be receptive to feedback regarding ingredient choices rather than becoming defensive.

This place is lovely. I stumbled across it kind of by accident, and decided to get their monthly special. It was delicious! The person who rang me up was kind and considerate. If you’re looking for a quick lunch spot in SLU I definitely recommend it. One thing I really appreciate about the service is that they will come around from behind the counter to hand you your food - it’s such a nice touch. Edited to add: if you take them up on their free drink reward please know that you should post your review the same day you order your food. Their sign says “free drink must be redeemed same day as review is posted” which I thought meant you could post the review at any point, but apparently they’re trying to get same day feedback. Don’t make the same mistake I did 🙃

I finally found a spot that proves street food can be both healthy and high-protein! The Misal Pav here is outstanding—the spicy sprout curry (usal) is packed with plant-based protein and fiber, making it a surprisingly nutritious and wholesome meal.

Love the modern, homely atmosphere at this little gem! The misal pav was standout, the aloo parantha was delicious and authentic. A perfect, light-filled space for a tasty vegetarian bite.

FYI: I don’t recommend this place for now. Will visit again later check on other dishes The restaurant should work on providing some basic dishes which satisfies the foodies. Samosa chat and Rajma chawal both were equally bad at tastes. It misses all the spicies and the name itself doesn’t suit the food they provide. The images shows the amount of food wasted😒.
