Dunn Brothers Coffee - Eatery
715 8th St S, Minneapolis, MN
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Hennepin County Medical Center, this Dunn Brothers location offers a convenient pit stop for hospital visitors and staff seeking traditional coffee drinks and light bites, though the clinical setting means you'll want to grab and go rather than linger. The standout here isn't the ambiance—reviewers note the uncomfortable furniture and hospital vibe—but rather the genuine care from staff members like Bob and Finn, who approach each order and customer interaction with real warmth and attention. If you're in the area and appreciate a barista who remembers your name and makes your drink with heart, this location delivers that human connection that transforms a quick coffee run into something memorable.”

I usually enjoy Dunn Brothers Coffee, but my experience at the downtown Minneapolis location inside Hennepin County Medical Center was disappointing. They accidentally handed my order to someone else, which caused an unnecessary delay. I’d strongly recommend they start using names or order numbers when handing out drinks, or at least ask for a receipt for confirmation — it would prevent mix-ups like this. Also be ready to pull out cash there was like 4 people that asked me for spare change while waiting for my food. On a positive note, the employees were friendly and welcoming, but the organization definitely needs improvement.
So I order a chocolate muffin and a pepperoni pizza I get my chocolate muffin and wait after a few minutes I get my pizza I go to my car and when I open my supposed pepperoni pizza I open to see that I don’t have a pepperoni pizza instead I have a freaking I don’t know what pizza but it looked….well interesting in my words it looked disgusting and it wasn’t even pepperoni it was whole different ahh pizza and it have sauce all over my pizza and some random ahh ingredients which I did not order I threw the pizza out because it was too disgusting to even be eaten overall my chocolate muffin was nice and I was treated with kindness but I was craving pizza that day so flip you😼
Wanted to say thank you to Finn for being patient with me when I was having problems with my debit card. Even offering to pay for my lunch. It's not often we see caring people that provide excellent customer service. Dunn Brothers is lucky to have him as an employee. Same with Levi who helped to check me out even though I was declined a second time. He knew what was going on and was very discreet like Finn. All the employees are really nice and my sandwich and coffee were excellent. Thanks again Finn and Levi.
Bob is amazing and the food is out of the world amazing staff, especially Bob amazing character amazing. He brightens up my day. Food and drinks always made with love.
I was not prepared for the fact that this “cafe” is in a public health hospital. The tables and chairs all looked incredibly uncomfortable like they don’t want people to sit in them (and hardly anyone was). The ladies restroom was closed, so I had to go all the way to the sixth floor for another restroom. Which wouldn’t be so bad but the elevators reeked really bad of smoke. People were also smoking right outside the front doors. I did not eat the food, but I rated both the food and service highly because it’s not the employee’s fault that this place smells gross, etc.
