Rue Cafe
3906 14th St NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“Rue Café is a neighborhood gem where the coffee is treated with real care—think perfectly balanced lattes and what might be DC's best dirty chai latte—and the bright, plant-filled space (complete with a new patio bar) feels like your favorite friend's living room. Beyond stellar espresso drinks, they've nailed the full café experience with fresh, adaptable breakfast and light food, accommodating dietary needs while keeping prices reasonable and service genuinely warm.”

Ordered the couscous bowl. Was super fresh and tasty. Latte was perfectly sweet and balanced. Cafe environment is super cozy and clean too! Prices are reasonable as well. I would definitely support this cafe over chain restaurants. Definitely coming back here soon with friends.
Rue Café is a total hidden gem! The space is bright, cozy, and has that perfect neighborhood café feel. The coffee is excellent — smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. I tried a latte and a croissant, and both were amazing. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to visit again and again for good vibes and great coffee.
This place is amazing! The coffee is flavorful, and all the other drinks are delicious too. I have a dairy allergy, and the menu is adaptable to accommodate. Great spot for breakfast with a loved one!
New Patio Bar at Rue Cafe is Open! Tues-Sun 1 pm - 10 pm (hours might change) Rue Cafe has been my favorite cafe for years (they serve what might be the best dirty chai latte in the whole city), but I was hyped to see the construction on their patio and hear that they’d be serving drinks. I’m happy to report that just like the coffee, Rue’s patio bar cocktails and light bites are phenomenal!! Highly recommend the wings (perfect level of spice) The Horn Pour citrus-infused vodka cocktail. Big shout out as well to the friendly service and lovely music 😌 will be dragging friends from all over the neighborhood here over the coming weeks. P.S. They just opened so expect things like hours, drinks, and food options to change as they continue to receive host and get feedback.
The new patio space is really pretty. Lots of plants and super clean. The drinks, especially the mezcal one, were great and super unique. Service was good too. Would love to see some stronger fans to beat the DC humidity and a more affordable mocktail.
