Cake Shop Cafe
22-A West St, Millbury, MA
Crema's Take
“This Millbury gem pulls you in with genuinely warm staff and a cozy atmosphere that feels like a living room for regulars and newcomers alike. Their Thai iced coffee and house-made brownies are the real standouts, with customers consistently praising both the quality and generosity of portions at fair prices. It's the kind of place where you can linger for a meeting, enjoy specialty drinks alongside traditional coffee, and actually feel like part of the community.”

i have been a patron of cake shop for a while and have gotten coffee and food here since it opened with my best friends, but honestly that has all gone out the window honestly given the horrible customer service my boyfriend and i experienced just now. we walk in to no greeting and kindly placed our orders after a few minutes and the person at the register was very cold, for some benefit of the doubt context we came in at 2 and they close at 3 understandably kinda annoying but as a retail / food service vet, but seemingly giving customers attitude for that reason is crazy. the real kicker though is almost immediately after getting his $7 drink my boyfriends cup slipped and spilled in the ground off the table. there was no one in the store and there’s no possible way the two people behind the counter didn’t hear or see it. my boyfriend and i being super embarrassed cleaned it up because we felt really horrible. my boyfriend went as far to go up to the register and ask for a wet rag so the table and floor wouldn’t be sticky and make the lives of the baristas easier. to which the person behind the counter just said “….. well mop later” in an extremely rude tone. i want to be clear, we were not expecting to get a new coffee for free, but given we collectively paid $35 between our two orders and there was two other customers in the store AND we fully cleaned up the mess, it was a little disheartening for her not to offer him a new beverage. him and i are food service and retail vets and both agreed offering a new drink would have been the standard ESPECIALLY given he had that drink in his hands for maybe less than 2 minutes. i aim to support local but i guess ill be sticking to my route at dunkin because this was just such an unenjoyable experience.
Absolutely love this place. Great coffee and treats, so cozy and the staff is so friendly and nice.
I love the coffee & the desserts. The prices are very good for the size you get. I highly recommend the Thai iced coffee & the brownies. The service was also great! We had our hands full so one of the employees helped us bring our drinks to the car.
Great Cafe Near Home! 🌟☕ This cafe is a local gem! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. They offer a variety of delicious coffee, snacks, and cakes 🍰—something for everyone. You really can't go wrong with this wonderful spot! Highly recommend checking it out, and if you do, grab me a latte while you're there! 😄
From the outside atmosphere to the inside ambiance this place is awesome. The girls that work there are sweet and friendly. They got my order right the first time and it was great. I even asked for a side of milk with no issue at all. My boss and I sat down and talked with little to no worries. There was one point where someone on the other side of the wall baking which caused pounding on the wall. That was pretty annoying to be honest. Other than that the place was great. Id 100% recommend to anyone wanting to give it a try.
