Brooklyn Roasting Company
828 Broadway, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused roastery has earned a loyal following for its own high-quality beans, with customers shipping their Iris espresso blend across the country for home use. While the cozy, spacious atmosphere invites lingering work sessions, the experience can feel inconsistent—order wait times and drink quality occasionally disappoint despite the café's solid reputation. It's a pleasant neighborhood refuge with genuine coffee craftsmanship at its heart, though it doesn't always live up to the buzz surrounding it.”

The atmosphere is pleasant, but the overall experience didn’t quite match the hype. I waited longer than expected just to place my order, and the drink itself was fairly average. Seating felt cramped and not very comfortable, which made it hard to relax. If you’re just stopping in to grab beans to go, it might be fine. But as a place to sit and unwind, it wasn’t very enjoyable for me.
Brooklyn Roasting Company is a cozy and inviting café known for its high-quality, freshly roasted coffee and expertly crafted beverages. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing or working. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, providing excellent service. It’s an ideal spot for coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
I live in Colorado and since trying BRC coffee when visiting NYC, I have been buying Iris espresso on a monthly basis for my Profitec machine. I've tried many coffees, and found the quality and value of all BRC coffees I tried to be excellent and hard to beat. They always ship on time, the coffee is consistently good and fresh, and with Iris specifically, the crema is ridiculous !
The atmosphere is pleasant, but the overall experience didn’t live up to the hype. I had to wait longer than I expected to place my order, and the drink itself was quite average. The seating was tight and uncomfortable. If you’re only picking up beans to go, it might be okay, but sitting around and relaxing wasn’t very enjoyable for me.
It is a good place to rest since not much along the long street. The place is spacious and it offers a decent selection of coffee products. Only one person was staffed befond the counter, and you may have to wait a while when it gets a few customers. They get their bakery stuff from Unregular Bakery, which is a good choice!
