Thee Diner

Crema's Take
“This genuine family-run diner in Cicero wins hearts with its ultra-basic, no-frills charm and genuinely friendly staff who make you feel like a regular from your first visit. The breakfast and comfort food are the real draw here—think classic French toast and sausage gravy—though consistency seems to be a work in progress, so you might want to stick with their simpler, more reliable offerings. It's the kind of place where you go for the unhurried sit-down experience and the honest, unpretentious atmosphere rather than adventurous flavors.”

hate doing this as it is hard to run a business. French toast was raw, fruit topping was runny and did not taste right. Bacon was not edible. Was over charged on bill as well. Horrible experience, but waitress was outstanding. Will NOT go back
This is a good old fashioned family-run diner. Great breakfast and comfort food! The atmosphere is ultra basic which is part of it's charm. The staff are extremely customer friendly and make you feel like you were personally invited. There's lots of pride here and we can't get enough of this place. It is our "go to" whenever we are in the area. Oh, and needless to say, prices are excellent.
1.17.26 update Hubby and I went today for a little lunch. Because the specials I was interested in both had mushrooms, I cannot have them. I chose a bacon cheeseburger. Mid well. Hubby chose a mushroom burger medium. The server remarked that she'd give me Swiss cheesethat my hubby switched. I told her not only can either of us have Swiss, I absolutely cannot have mushrooms as they are very harmful for me. So, our food arrived, quickly, with a smile. Both burgers were well done. 😔 The buns were not looking great. I could not eat the top bun. Tomatoes were super fresh, reasonable amount of lettuce, onion, but no pickles?? I kept trying to ask, but every time she came to check. I had my mouth full. I did eat most of it because it was tasty even though it was overcooked. The fries were super yummy. We call them empire fries because the first time we ever had that type, was a sandwich shop in Liverpool, called Empire subs. They're long gone but those fries. I think they're double dipped? Double fried? Not sure. But nice and crispy, tender, nothing else required. They are perfect. However, I can only give 3 stars for food because I found mushrooms not only on my plate, but also IN MY BURGER. Had I known, I would've not consumed a much as I did and I would've said something. I don't know how many I ate but my stomach is telling me: TOO MANY!!! I just needed to get home and take some medicine. Old: We brought our nephew for breakfast and he loved his silver dollar pancakes and chocolate milk. We loved our eggs, toast and pork (me) and omelette (hubby). Our waitress was wonderful, Jenny is a superstar!! The coffee was delicious. The speed of service was awesome. Thee diner never disappoints!! I recommend it to everyone who enjoys food honest food and great service
Not a bad place at all but also nothing that would set it apart from others. The bacon had a funny taste. My sausage gravy was good but again nothing special. The service was prompt and friendly
Great little stopfor after a hot day down at the race track. Big selection of a variety of flavors for every taste bud! Come on down and get some soft serve from Ava and cool off!
