Crema's Take

Clover Bakery & Cafe feels like stumbling upon a beloved neighborhood spot in Kyoto, tucked into the bustling Mitsuwa Marketplace with an irresistible charm that's earned it a devoted following. Their Japanese-style breads—especially the fried curry pan—arrive fresh from the oven daily, paired with solid traditional coffee drinks that hit the mark without pretension. It's small, genuinely cozy, and worth the occasional line during peak hours; come for the pastries and onigiri, stay for the welcoming vibe that keeps locals coming back regularly.

Excellent and friendly little bakery. Reminds me of the little bread shops around where I visited in Kyoto. We stop here regularly when we have a day out and get onigiri and coffee. Their breads are always delicious and love that they have full size and half sized versions. Favorites between the both of us: Spicy Tuna and Teriyaki Chicken onigiri Yakisoba Bread Melon Bread Curry Bread Hojicha Latte

this bakery is tiny but quaint & very popular(iirc it blew up on tiktok a while ago) & has a great variety of inexpensive japanese breads as well as drinks, onigiri, sandwiches. all of the baked goods taste like what i make at home in the best possible way, and there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. i live nearby so i stop by often but i always make sure to get something i haven’t tried before. my personal favs are the crab & fish roe bread, milk bread(comes in no sliced, thin sliced, thick sliced), melon bread, & strawberry milk. before you come in know that some of the breads have a purchase limit!!! ex. the crab roe bread has a limit of 4

Clover Bakery & Cafe is cute and neat! It has a variety of pastries and drinks with good portion and reasonable price. It's located in the super popular Mitsuwa Marketplace along with Teaspoon, Tomi Sushi and others. If you come here in the weekend, prepare to spend at least 15 minutes or more to look for parking. May the odds forever in your favor That being said, you'll be rewarded when you step inside Clover Bakery! The store looks inviting with an aisle against the wall with all the pastries you can imagine in your life. There's a table in the middle too with extra goodies and delicious stuff. Grab a tray and a tongue and the bakery is now your oyster! Go roaming and come back and share what you got There is very limited seating inside. Only a tiny table and two chairs so it's mostly grab and go at this bakery. I came on a Saturday at noon and the store was not crowded at all. I got a peach danish, a spam musubi, a chocolate chip green tea round puff and a strawberry milk. There was a bench just right outside of the store so my friend and I sat there and enjoyed our finds. I liked their spam musubi. The rice was moist and fragrant! The spam had the nice flavors and kicks. Everything worked well together and was comforting to eat. The strawberry milk was refreshing and not too sweet (which is the best compliment an Asian can give ) Perhaps because I didn't have chance to try the peach danish and the chocolate green tea puff till a day later, they didn't taste that spectacular to me. Overall, it was a nice experience visiting Clover Bakery, minus the parking headache.

I believe Clover Bakery is the best bakery store in San Francisco Bay Area. The store sells all fresh baked breads which taste are really delicious. Especially, my favorite breads are Fried Curry Pan, Shrimp Burger, Yakisoba Pan, and Croquette Burger. I have not ordered Roll Balls, Musubi yet but I can be sure they are also so delicious. It is a far from my home but I am happy to drive to buy these delicious Japanese style breads which are really worth. Also, I noticed the store makes a Japanese style birthday cake. I will order it for the next my son's birthday.

Cozy and welcoming neighborhood JP bakery/cafe with tons of selection (pastries, fresh onigiri/other food and drinks). During peak hours it's common to have a line/some challenge parking in the plaza lot. I love their melonpan, spicy tuna sandwich (very spicy for me) and unagi musubi/onigiris. Takeout only.
