Crema's Take

Annex Coffee feels less like a caffeine pit stop and more like a creative sanctuary, with thoughtfully designed spaces ranging from cozy living room nooks to focused wall counters, even private phone booths for when you need to step away. Their espresso-forward approach pairs beautifully with the mellow vibe and practical perks like free water in lovely cups, WiFi, and a printer, making it equally suited for serious work sessions or meaningful conversations over a carefully crafted shot. The staff's genuine warmth—from remembering regular needs to accommodating everything from Bible studies to business calls—transforms this into a gathering place where you're clearly welcomed as more than just a transaction.

I stopped by just to get some water. Very nice café. Thank you for the free water served in really pleasant cups. It’s a great place to work with a cup of coffee — there’s Wi-Fi, a printer, and even quiet private booths with power outlets and a small desk for a laptop. Unfortunately, I don’t live in this area; otherwise, I would visit often. As I understand it, this is a café connected to a church and open on weekdays. That’s a really great idea. I’d love to have something like this at my church too.

Great workspace with chill mellow background music. Has a Friday of seating options, including living room, chairs, tables 2 to 6 people and long wall counters. They've added a breakfast sandwich with his nice and the lattes are good quality, friendly staff.

I had a great Bible study here. I used one of the 3 confessional Botha here. Catholic and German friendly. While Carring the coals to Newcastle, I really enjoyed the espresso.

Wonderful spot to work great staff, and even better coffee. They have phone booths so you can have private calls. Plenty of space to work and easy to park around there.

I can't review Eastside on food or coffee because I couldn't find a comfortable place to sit and plug in, even though there were many open seats. I am a 58-year-old, plus size person, and the tiny metal stools that offered a plug-in for my computer pretty much looked like torture. The very kind young person behind the counter suggested the comfy stuffed chairs, but it was with a small table that I would have had to hunch over, or put my laptop in my lap. Not a good environment for a larger person who wants a good 6-hour writing session. I'm bummed. (Pun unfortunate.) Maybe they can up their stools and chairs game. Billed as a workspace, it's very thin-centric. 😟
