Crema's Take

Tucked just two blocks from La Jolla Cove, this beloved spot stands out for its thoughtfully curated atmosphere complete with abundant seating across a charming patio and cozy indoor space filled with books, games, and puzzles—making it as much a gathering place as a cafe. The kitchen takes pride in crafting quality items from organic ingredients, from espresso drinks that impress visitors from across the country to generously portioned sandwiches and brunch offerings that justify the loyal following. Dog-friendly and welcoming to both coffee sippers and all-day workers, it's the kind of independent cafe that makes you understand why locals skip past the usual tourist spots to land here.

Amazing place with a lot of tasty items made with high-quality, organic ingredients. This place has amazing decoration inside and also a large, lovely patio you can sit orwork at outside. Also, this place has a menu for dogs too, which I found really cute! (see the attached photos)

Just 2 blocks from La Jolla cove, we have always loved stopping by at *The Flower Pot* bypassing all eateries and cafés in La Jolla. However, tonight’s experience was beyond disappointing. Our family came for coffee, tea and small eats, 40 minutes before closing. Ordered 2-Hot Mexican Mochas, 1-Chai Latte and 1-Chicken Quesadilla. Paid $46.50 w/18%tip. Coffee arrived in very small cups (not in coffee mugs as they usually serve). It was served overly lukewarm-cold. And, it wasn’t just the top-foam was cold; the total of 4 sips of coffee in the cup, was cold to the last sip. As if it was sitting for hours in a machine brewed with descaling and cleaning issues since the taste of the coffee was stale, flat and no flavor of Mexican spices as told by the cashier. Tea latte was cold too, though served in a mug. Hot quesadilla was somewhat of a saving grace for chilly winter’s early evening hour, however the chicken we paid extra was barely there inside the wrapped quesadilla. Paid unreasonably high price for something that tasted like a day old left-over food, coffee & tea. Seems like they were out of everything an hour before closing the shop. Posting pics from our good times, breakfasts, and when Bobboi Gelato first sent us here to buy organic coffee. Bought ground organic coffee packs from Gloria over the years. Lastly, what’s with the school kids who never buy food, but are sitting there with convenience store coke-bottle doing homework on laptops, (1-school kid today) occupying 4-seater table inside, never leave for hours until closing time. We are not returning any more. Hurtful for the very reason why small local businesses we do not ever want to see closing down keeps going away. Awful!

Visiting from Memphis, and this place was cute from the outside I had to stop and try it. The coffee was amazing, the sandwiches we ordered were great- just huge so I got full really fast. Ganon was the guy behind the counter who took out order and he was adorable in every way. Such a cute vibe here. It's probably my favorite place I have been to so far on our trip

Met up with friends here to catch up — and this place is really well suited for that. I liked that there’s plenty of space, especially outdoors: big tables, lots of seating, and enough room to comfortably gather even with a larger group. There are also quiet spots where you can work or just relax on your own. We had coffee, but to be honest, I didn’t like it — just not my taste. Still, the overall atmosphere is nice, so it’s a good spot for friendly meetups.

Loved our brunch at The Flower Pot Cafe and Bakery! First of all, what a great atmosphere. Abundant indoor and outdoor dog friendly seating. Lots of books, board games, and puzzles. The perfect, cozy coffee shop vibe. The food and drinks were great too! The white mocha and iced caffe mocha are very tasty. The tuna melt and breakfast Sammy are nice too, very filling. They even have a pup menu and ours loved the salmon lox cut. Highly recommend!
