Moxie Java
1122 S Vista Ave, Boise, ID
Crema's Take
“This Boise institution has earned fierce loyalty over its 15 years by combining solid espresso work with a genuine commitment to community—staff remember regulars by name, and the young team treats every order with real care. Beyond the reliable coffee and creative signature drinks, Moxie Java distinguishes itself with unexpected touches like chorizo breakfast wraps and a full sandwich menu that keeps families and regulars coming back consistently. The vibe here skews toward purposeful and respectful rather than loungy, with an owner who clearly expects his shop to be a place of engagement rather than idle lingering.”

My family and i have come to this place consistently for 15 years, the staff know me by name and they are great!, but the owner disparages any form of relaxation in his coffee shop. I had a coffee and some food, finished those, half hour later I lay my head down for less than 20 seconds. The gentleman whose been sitting across from me for the last 20 minutes stands up and tells me I cant be sleeping in his restaurant because he is the owner. Because of this encounter I dont think I'm going to be willing to support his business anymore.
I have never seen so much responsibility & respect in young blood. In all my years that I've been in Boise Idaho, and I moved here in 1977, from Denver, Colorado. And the young blood working at this establishment cares about their customers and how they represent the company. They are definitely an inspiration of what more millennial young blood should be just like these young adults are trying to be so please be kind when you leave a messages In regards to Moxie, Java, they're trying to do their very best like we did. When we were all young ! Sending my love to all my peeps ❤️ Ellie Whaley (AKA) Grandma Whaley 👵
The coffee here is good but I can't express how frustrating it is that this location is frequently late opening! The sign says they open at 7am on Saturday and Sunday. I'm sitting here on a Saturday morning at 7:18 and no one is here. This isn't the first time either. I wish I liked Dutch Bros or any other nearby coffee.
We love coming here whether it's the coffee or the sandwiches. My wife thinks they have the best coffee and my whole family loves the Blimpies sandwiches. No matter who is on shift the gals here always provide the best customer service. Always friendly and welcoming
So surprised to see they make breakfast wraps (burritos) with one of the choices being chorizo. Unfailingly kind, even when patiently dealing with a customer struggling with obvious cognitive disability. The ladies behind the counter also make Blimpie subs to order, it's all in one. Place looks like a cool neighborhood hangout, too. Cafe au lait was strong (choice of three roasts).
