Crema's Take

This Brooklyn Vietnamese sandwich shop has earned its stellar reputation with impossibly crispy yet airy banh mi bread that locals can't stop raving about, paired with a stellar Vietnamese iced coffee that makes it a perfect quick grab before work. Beyond the namesake sandwiches, they've built a loyal following for fresh breakfast options and creative variations like bulgogi banh mi, all delivered with genuine friendliness that makes the grab-and-go experience feel personal. While there's room to fine-tune some of their specialty drinks, the core banh mi execution and affordable prices make this a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Vietnamese flavors done exceptionally well.

Delicious affordable bahn mi sandwiches and great Vietnamese iced coffee. I tried the breakfast bahn MI and my son had the bulgogi bahn mi. Both were yummy.

Great on the go snack for anyone who’s interested!!! Food was fresh out the oven, perfectly crisp, and radiant of flavor. Even though their sandwiches are what they’re known for, I’d highly recommend trying some of the drinks on their menu. They’re unique to this store, especially with their different choices of Asian flavored cold foams (black sesame, ube, etc.). Something to keep in mind is that there is limited seating (4 seats total), but 10/10 experience overall. Nothing but positive vibes!

We got the Mr banh mi and let me just say it’s the best banh mi I ever had. The bread is literally so crispy and airy at the same time, it’s actually insane. I’ll definitely be back to try out other things off the menu.

Been wanting to try this highly rated Banh Mi shop and finally had a chance to pick up a Mr. Banh Mi and a Vietnamese iced coffee to go. Gentleman handling our order was polite and friendly. Glad to see it’s a small locally owned family business. The banh mi was fresh and well prepared overall. The bread is made in house from my understanding which is impressive. In terms of texture and taste of the bread it’s about average and I’ve had better at a couple of other Brooklyn Banh Mi spots. The veggies are finely shredded which is different than other spots however I did find it lacking a bit of zest. The minced BBQ pork filling is a take from the OG Banh Mi spot that’s been around 40 years in Chinatown. Speaking about filling/cold cuts - it’s your usual except banh mi filling just a tad less amount wise compared to others. The traditional mayo and pate was definitely on the light side or lacking. On to the iced Vietnamese coffee pretty decent taste as some decent spots. Overall I give them kudos for baking their own bread and for prep/presentation but price is a factor comparing other banh mi spots in Asian areas as $13 for a banh mi in Bensonhurst vs $8 to $9.50 in Bensonhurst/Sunset Park/Bay Ridge is a tough bite to digest unless possibly yours is significantly better/bigger than the others. But I still wish their shop to prosper.

Bulgogi fries and Bahn mi were really good! The chicken wing sauce tastes like it’s missing something — not bad, just feels a bit incomplete. The Thai iced tea ratio needs to be adjusted — it feels like there might be too much milk in it. Overall, definitely will order again
