Crema's Take

Tucked into Brentwood Square, Las Chilenas is a warm neighborhood favorite where authentic Chilean empanadas (baked fresh, never fried) steal the show alongside thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks. The owners pour genuine hospitality into every interaction, creating the kind of welcoming atmosphere that makes you linger over breakfast and actually want to come back tomorrow. Beyond the stellar pastries and light fare, it's the soul of the place—real Chilean cooking made with care—that keeps people calling it a hidden gem.

Las Chileans Empanadas is a cute local gem in Brentwood Square in La Vista—don’t skip it. They have a great variety of empanadas and sandwiches. I tried the breakfast empanadas and they were amazing. The Americano was delicious too. Support local, this spot is a must

Food was 🔥🔥🔥 — sandwiches and empanadas were excellent. The woman who eventually took our order was very sweet, and the food itself was absolutely worth trying. The only reason I didn’t give this place a 5/5 was the customer service. I’ve wanted to try this spot for a long time, and since I was working at a nearby job site, I convinced two coworkers to join me for lunch. When we walked in, no one was at the front counter. There was a woman sitting at a table on a laptop, and I assumed she was a customer. I rang the bell, and another woman came out from the back to take our order, which I didn’t think much of at first. After we sat down, more customers came in. At that point, the woman who had been sitting at the table immediately got up and greeted them, taking their order cheerfully. That’s when it became clear she had been worki working there the whole time. I tried not to jump to conclusions, but it was a little disappointing. We came in on our lunch break and, yes, we’re construction workers, so we probably looked a bit rough around the edges—but that shouldn’t mean we’re ignored or not served promptly. I’d definitely come back because the food was great. I just hope the customer service becomes more consistent.

Had a great breakfast meal of a shredded beef empanada and mushroom/chicken empanada. We prefer them to traditional Mexican, as these are, Baked, fresh. It takes about 10-15 minutes to bake so be patient, it's worth the wait. Took some beef and veggie ones from their freezer, along with 2 serving size lasagna pans. Will repost with comments on those later. Coffee is good, from a women's coffee co-op in Guatemala. Deserts are freshly made, some indigenous and others. Will comment later on those too. Empanadas are reasonably sized. One was enough for me. They have combos too. They also have a nice collection, on their walls, of local artist's works, for sale.

A Hidden Gem with Heart and Flavor This quaint little coffee spot is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the incredibly friendly owners who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—perfect for a quiet morning or an afternoon pick-me-up. Their Guatemalan coffee is rich, smooth, and full of flavor—clearly made with care. I tried the torta and an empanada, and both were nothing short of delicious. The torta was perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients, and the empanada had a wonderfully flaky crust with a savory filling that hit the spot. What really caught my eye, though, were the desserts. They look absolutely mouthwatering—beautifully displayed and clearly crafted with love. I’ll definitely be coming back to try them! If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming spot with incredible food and coffee, this is it.

Wow—just wow. This place was unbelievable. Hands down the best food I’ve had in a long time. Las Chilenas served up incredibly delicious, authentic Chilean cuisine, made with love by actual Chileans who clearly know what they’re doing. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, and once the food hit the table—pure magic. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and prepared with care. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was an easy 10 out of 10. Honestly, I wish I could give it more than that. My wife and kids couldn’t stop raving about how good everything was—we cleaned our plates and then some. It’s rare to find a place that feels this special, where the food warms your soul and leaves you already planning your next visit before the meal is even over. We’ll definitely be returning to Las Chilenas very soon. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Highly, highly recommended.
