Peoples Organic Cafe

80 S 8th St, Minneapolis, MN

Crema's Take

This cozy Minneapolis spot strikes a genuine balance between being a reliable daily coffee stop and a destination for thoughtful specialty drinks, where recent visitors consistently rave about the fresh, healthy food offerings like the standout Turkey & Pesto Croissant and quality pastries. The warm service and community vibe—especially popular with nearby IDS tenants who get a discount—create that rare "slow sit" atmosphere where baristas actually remember your order and care about getting it right. Despite some inconsistent execution in the reviews, the genuine affection regulars express suggests Peoples Organic is the kind of place that gets better once you become part of its rhythm.

I don't understand why the reviews are so low! Most people (including myself) who have been recently love this place. I stop here on the way to my internship and I get a coffee. I think the morning barista gentleman is really nice. He remembered me which I wasn't expecting! I've also witnesed him just being a generally good dude to people in the area. I enjoy my brown sugar coconut milk latte everytime. This is a great place for coffee, I can't speak to the food.

I visited People's Organic on a layover back on August 24. I've saved my receipt so that I can remember to write a review. From the fresh food offerings, to the wonderful service provided by Dan D - 5 stars, thank you.

IDS tenants get a discount and the food has always been good and healthy, in my opinion. Have never had a bad experience.

The Turkey & Pesto Croissant Sandwich is a must have. I was asked if I wanted chips or salad. I said, "I want chips. But I'll have salad." Let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. The Balsamic Vinegar dressing was more flavorful than any I've ever had. And the oil to vinegar ratio was spot on. And the sandwich? The pesto completely kicked it off. I wish the cheese had been havarti instead of cheddar, but then I'd eat havarti on just about anything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The place has a very down-to-earth look and vibe. It's located inside the IDS Center building and is worth a trip there. They are open Mon-Fri 8am to 2pm. If you're in the area, and want to try something different, eat here.

Ordered a matcha latte with hemp milk for myself and a bagel with cream for my husband. Bagel was burnt and not enough cream cheese for the whole bagel. The matcha latte was mostly frothed hemp milk with a hint of matcha that cost $6. Underwhelming and overpriced.
