Crema's Take

This sun-filled LA expansion of the legendary NYC original brings Levain's signature thick, gooey cookies to the West Coast with a gorgeous marble-and-greenery setting that feels more spacious and polished than its tiny Upper West Side predecessor. Whether you're grabbing a warmed cookie to go or settling into the pretty outdoor seating for a leisurely coffee date, the vibe strikes that perfect balance between quick indulgence and slow, lingering comfort. Fair warning: their LA cookies have a subtly different character than the NYC versions, but regulars keep coming back for them anyway—often in quantities of five or more per visit.

Exited to see this location after many years going to the original tiny upper West side in NYC, the service was delightful and a lot more options, the cookies tasted different from the nyc version, same ingredients but not as decadent somehow. They had thd best lemon cake in town, very flavorful. The chocolate brioche twist however was so dense, don’t recommend. I’ll definitely be back for that 🍋 cake!!

Been a regular at this location since they first opened around June 2023 and I keep coming back for a reason. I usually grab five cookies every visit. Stopped by today around 11:11 AM and ordered just one cookie but it came out cold. Pamela took care of me and handled it perfectly. Even though there was a small misunderstanding at first she immediately warmed it up and then went above and beyond by giving me a fresh cookie instead. That is next level customer service and exactly why this place stands out. The Larchmont location is consistently better than the Beverly Hills one. Better service better experience and the same legendary cookies.

**4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Levain Bakery Larchmont: Pretty Cookies in a Prettier Space** Levain’s Larchmont outpost is undeniably gorgeous—think sun-drenched white brick walls, marble counters, lush greenery hanging everywhere, and that perfect Instagram-worthy corner window seat 🌿☀️. The decor screams upscale boutique, and on a weekend morning it’s packed with influencers snapping pics and families treating it like a mini destination. The vibe is bright, airy, and polished—private equity money shows in every chic detail. The cookies are still **massive** and come out warm, which is always a win. That gooey center and crackly top are intact, and the chocolate chip walnut remains a beast of a treat. Staff are friendly, the line moves fast, and the display case looks tempting. But… these don’t taste like the Levain I fell in love with in New York. The dough lacks that signature depth and freshness—rumors swirl that some are premade and shipped (or baked off from frozen/par-baked a while back), and honestly, it shows. The flavor feels flatter, less buttery, less “just-pulled-from-the-oven-at-the-original” magic. Compared to the Harlem or Upper West Side locations, this LA version is good, but not transcendent. At the end of the day, it’s still one of the better oversized cookies in the city, and the space is lovely for a quick coffee-and-treat stop. I’ll keep coming back because it’s convenient and pretty, but my heart belongs to the NYC originals. If you’ve never had the real thing, you’ll probably love it. If you have… temper expectations. Solid, not spectacular.

I’ve been here a few times now, even back when their cookies were only available in New York. They’re known for their thick, gooey cookies that are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. At around $7 each, they’re definitely pricey, but the cookies are big and worth it. I usually go for the classic chocolate chip, but this time I also tried the double chocolate, which was super rich and really good. The cookies stayed fresh for a couple of days too, which was nice. They also make great gifts if you’re trying to impress someone!

Super cute bakery inside. I ordered the Coconut Carmel Chocolate Chip cookie. I really enjoyed the cookie. I’d say it’s more of a two person cookie, but it was DELICIOUS! I asked for it warmed up and they forgot which dinged the experience a little. Prices were a little high (5.50ish for the cookie). Overall pretty good though!
