Crema's Take

Cafe Typica is a gem of a neighborhood roaster where the owner genuinely connects with every customer, crafting exceptional drinks like spicy chais and perfectly balanced lattes while sharing stories over the counter. The atmosphere strikes that rare balance of being unassuming yet warm, with surprisingly thoughtful pricing for a roaster, making it feel less like a trendy coffee destination and more like discovering your new favorite local spot. Whether you're settling in with a pour over or grabbing a cold brew on your way out, you'll find the care evident in every cup and the kind of genuine hospitality that keeps people coming back.

The owner had some great stories to tell while he made my drink, which turned out to be the most satisfying and well-made spicy chai I've ever had. I had a raspberry coffee cake slice to go with it, and it turned my boring morning upside down. I'll be going back here every time I'm in town.

I ordered a honey latte and it was delicious! I don’t know if the guy that made it was the owner or not, but he was very kind! Every single customer that walked in while I was there seemed to have known him personally. I’ll definitely be back!

Such an amazing shop! I can’t believe it took me this long to discover it. The atmosphere is warm and the coffee—was perfect. My latte had the perfect balance: a flavorful, medium-bold espresso. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying the baked goods next time!

Super unassuming spot! I was shocked at the price of their coffee (& considering they’re a roaster). Probably one of the best priced roasters in the city. For a cold brew & an iced americano it was a little over $6… for two drinks, that’s a rarity (I’ll usually spend $5/$5.50 for a cold brew / nitro alone at most places). With tip, you’re well under $10 - Crazy! Coffee was great, definitely worth adding to your coffee rotation! Glad I stopped in! Service was also friendly :)

Small but extremely good local coffee shop. The coffee drinks, especially the lattes, are wonderful. Very small selection of pastries. Service is friendly and fast. The dog is nice if you get a chance to meet him. There are a few seats inside and more outside. There is password protected Wi-Fi. Parking is not normally an issue.
