Crema's Take

Monday Coffee is a charming neighborhood gem on Chicago's west side where thoughtful creativity meets genuine hospitality—they're known for unexpected flavor pairings like their signature matcha coconut water drink that somehow tastes better than it sounds. The minimalist, light-filled space strikes that rare balance of being perfect for both a quick caffeine boost and lingering work sessions, all while you're surrounded by the kind of friendly service and roasted bean aroma that makes you feel like part of a real community rather than just another customer.

I stumbled upon this super cute coffee shop on my way to work today and I love it! This post-workout match coconut water drink is both refreshing and energizing. Never thought to pair the two! Baristas are super friendly as well. Will have to come back and try other speciality drinks soon!

I didn’t get a picture of my food but I will next time I go. I had the gluten free blueberry muffin which honestly tasted like a regular muffin to me. Sometimes gluten free food can taste weird but this muffin was pleasantly delicious. I forget the latte that I had but the employee suggested it and it was really good. The BBQ empanada was tasty to the point that my toddler snatched it off the plate and tried to stuff it in his mouth. I loved the atmosphere. The employees were very nice. I bought a bag of coffee and they ground it for me. It smelled so good in my car on the way home. I just brewed a cup and it tastes good black, though I did add milk and sugar. The coffee bag was $30 which is a bit more than I normally spend but due to the quality of the coffee, I will be purchasing more coffee from them going forward.

This is an awesome lil coffee shop on the west side a bit of a walk from the pink line right on 16th st. It’s just near the edge of Douglass Park. Cool chairs and atmosphere and very friendly service! I had a Monday Romano and it was lemony and awesome.

Walking into Monday Coffee instantly sets the mood. The space has this cool, modern vibe—minimalist design, soft lighting, and open space that feels both stylish and comfortable. It’s the kind of spot where you want to sit for a while, whether you’re catching up with a friend, reading, or just enjoying some time to yourself. I ordered a Caramel Latte, and it was excellent—smooth, perfectly balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the coffee. You can really tell they put care into every drink. What I loved most, though, was the atmosphere. It’s more than a coffee shop—it’s a community space. People were hanging out, playing chess, and enjoying the energy of the room. It felt welcoming, like the kind of place you’d want to return to again and again. If you’re looking for great coffee, a laid-back but creative vibe, and a space that feels genuinely inviting, Monday Coffee is the spot.

Step into the beautiful space at Monday coffee and you will feel the buzz of community and the smell of roasted beans. I love this coffee shop, you can taste the hospitality in every drink and the entire vibe of the shop. One it is stunningly designed, almost something out of a museum, with tons of natural light pouring in. As for beverages, the cardamom brown sugar latte (5/5) is a number one stunner. I love that it’s crafted with oat milk for my non Dairy queens. Also do not sleep on the passion fruit lemonade(5/5), it is so vibrant and so sunny and tastes like summer in a cup. I can’t wait to go back and get the lemonade with a shot of espresso in it (don’t knock it til you try it.) The hospitality, as i mentioned runs deep! Amanda, one of the owners, helped me to my car with four drinks in the middle of Saturday rush when they ran out of cup holders. So kind and so lovely.
