Mercantile Coffee & Feed

Crema's Take

Housed in a beautifully restored historic mercantile building on Nicholasville's Main Street, this spot feels less like a coffee shop and more like a beloved community gathering place with its sprawling barn-like layout and genuine warmth from staff. Whether you're settling in for serious work with a signature creative drink, meeting a friend over a BLT that locals rave about, or letting the kids roam while you linger over coffee, the spacious, thoughtfully designed room makes everyone feel welcome. The coffee and food quality consistently outshine chains at better prices, which explains why regulars keep coming back—some even willing to wait half an hour for their order.

This is a great big open barn of a place, it’s an old mercantile store space with plenty of tables and lots of room for kids to play in while you sip your coffee and pretend you’re hobnobbing with intellectuals in Paris over your coffee. Their sandwiches are excellent, and the pastries are sweet and creative.

This place is a total vibe! It's in a beautiful historic building on mainstreet. The service here is phenomenal and the food is to die for. My mother got her a BLT on toast and a coffee called The Bandit. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on toast, a caramel frappe, and a cinnamon roll. The drinks were blended perfectly and tasted amazing. This frappe was the best frappe I've ever had in my life, and the cinnamon roll was right there with Cinnabon in quality of flavor. When it's warmed up it melts in you mouth. Starbucks has nothing on Mercantile Coffee and feed.

Moved to Nicholasville about 2 months ago and found this coffee shop. It was great when we first moved there (better than Starbucks). The drinks and food were better for cheaper. Went recently and got the “sticky bandit” and a warm scone. The scone wasn’t heated up and the sticky bandit was so sweet I couldn’t drink it. So I asked for a plain cold brew and it might as well have been coffee flavored water. I loved it a few months ago, maybe new people are working there now. But it’s not the same

This is my absolute favorite place to come get a morning coffee with my dad! The people are always so nice and the wait time, i never cared for! I’d wait for half an hour if it meant i got this delicious coffee! Making these coffees with love can take time which is why it’s always as good as the last time.

Great local place. We decided to stop by for a break in the work day. The Cafe has a variety of seating. If you want to sit at a table and do some work, it is a quiet, nice workspace. If you want to relax on a comfy sofa chair with an end table for your coffee and cake you can come right in and get comfortable. The menu is fresh and appealing. There are a variety of sweets and sandwiches. But I highly recommend grabbing one of their designer, delicious, one of a kind coffee drinks. Follow us for more great reviews™
