Crema's Take

Sarmentine is a organic French bakery in Sebastopol that takes both coffee and pastries seriously, crafting everything from delicate chocolate mousse dacquoise to buttery croissants that keep locals coming back. The mocha and red eye are standouts, but it's really the combination of thoughtfully made drinks, impeccable pastries, and a relaxed outdoor seating area that makes this spot feel like a genuine neighborhood gathering place. Come here to slow down with a cappuccino and a raspberry braised croissant, and you'll understand why people are writing their first-ever reviews just to rave about it.

As a tourist, I wanted to enjoy a local coffee shop and bakery. My mocha was yummy and my pain suisse was delish. I ate outside and savored it.

The best of the best! Great food and amazing service! This morning got to see a bad example of humanity- a fully grown man throwing a tantrum for a free pastry. The girl at the counter handled this entitled person brilliantly. Thank you Sarmentine - your product is solid and your people are superstars!

I stopped by for the first time and tried a few different pastries and a coffee. The coffee comes in a single use cup; no option of a mug. My raspberry braised croissant and pastry were way too crispy and over-baked. I must say that their bacon quiche slice was a 10/10. It was super moist and not overcooked at all.

Finally a strong coffee in Napa and Sonoma. The red eye is everything you want in a coffee and get ready to not be able to resist the pastries. I did a local poached pear tartlet, my friend did a chocolate croissant and our other friend had the gluten free pavlova. Everything was fantastic.
