G Cafe Bakery Chapel St.

Crema's Take
“Tucked away on Chapel Street in Hamden, this beloved neighborhood spot has earned a devoted following for its exceptional French pastries—particularly their croissants in every imaginative variety and those legendary cronuts—paired with thoughtfully made coffee and a genuinely warm atmosphere. Regulars rave about lingering over breakfast quiche and almond croissants at the outdoor tables near the Yale Art Gallery, while the staff's kindness and the cafe's unpretentious charm make it feel like a cherished local secret rather than just another coffee shop.”

lovely people, great vibe. my wife and i visited new haven for our anniversary and we ended up here every morning. the cronuts are awesome, highly recommend. if you’re in the area you should definitely stop by this specific g cafe!
The almond croissant was the best part of our trip to Connecticut! Crunchy on the outside with plenty of almonds and a dusting of powdered sugar and flaky on the inside with the most amazing and plentiful almond filling. The staff was super friendly and engaged with my daughter and her stuffed dog. This will be my first stop whenever I return the area
Nice simple space with delicious baked goods and great coffee. Highly recommend the quiche. We took our breakfast to the tables outside the Yale Art Gallery—perfect start to the day.
This is the cutest cafe ever. We went to grab some coffee before we started our day. The pastries are so fancy, and they look amazing. I had a piece of zucchini bread, and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly you should definitely check it out
Everything I've had from here is great. Can highly recommend all their croissant pastries: regular, ham and cheese, cream, almond. Pastry is very flaky without being dry and shattering all over the place. The financiers are delicious as well, moist and almond-y. The brownie is dense and full of dark chocolate as well. Service is always friendly. Return visit: carrot cake frosting seems to be buttercream, not cream cheese. Carrot cake is still very good, just feel like the tang of the traditional cream cheese is preferable. Brownie continues to be dense and rich - maybe a touch on the sweet side. The new house roasted coffee beans are great in a double cortado
