Crema's Take

This Deep Ellum gem blends art deco charm with an impressively creative beverage program that goes well beyond standard coffee shop fare—think Lemon Vanilla Lattes and craft cocktails alongside thoughtful specialty drinks and matcha. It's become a neighborhood favorite for good reason: the vibe is relaxed and welcoming whether you're lingering over work, meeting friends, or diving into their unexpectedly excellent food offerings like their celebrated $5 pizza slices. The Meteor feels like the kind of place where experimentation is encouraged and every visit uncovers something new.

Very quickly has become one of my favorite cafes in Dallas. A very relaxed spot with lots of food options and great happy hour deals (you gotta get their $5 pizza "slice"). My friends and I love going for Thursday trivia. Their breakfast tacos are some of the best I've ever had. And talk about aesthetically pleasing- you'll get great Instagram story photos here, especially around late afternoon with the lighting. Parking at the garage behind Urby is comped when you go to The Meteor, which makes it easier to want to go their when I know I can find parking.

I’m so happy to have this cafe in the neighborhood. It’s a fun spot to grab a drink or something to eat or do a little work. From coffees, teas, cocktails and even non alcoholic beverages, there are plenty of options. I love grabbing a slice of pizza during happy hour, i love the Caesar salad and burger! I love the breakfast tacos too. The baristas are super knowledgeable, I love chatting coffee with them! They also host great community events!

We were attending a car show in Deep Ellum when someone suggested The Meteor for food and cocktails. Where have you been all my life! I'm not sure where to start-the art deco design, the Design District, the friendly, helpful employees (Vanessa and Amelia), the BlackBerry Bourbon Mash, or the Meteor Burger made with Wagyu beef. But wait-coffee drinks in the morning and natural wines in the afternoon. And not finished - it's a bike shop . My head is spinning!! I'm an art deco chick and love the lounge, the booths, the round bar, and the bad ass doors. I could live here! Did you know it does connect to a high rise apartment? So, apparently, some patrons do live there- technically!! I'm so jealous!! My new fav!!

Such a fun and unique coffee shop!! They have a nice selection of specialty coffees that are all very unique and delicious. We tried the Lemon Vanilla Latte which was unlike anything we’ve ever had, but the flavors blended and contrasted the coffee perfectly. Also tried a Matcha Latte with Honey Cinnamon which was perfectly velvety and not too sweet. The prices are definitely higher, but the vibe and menu makes up for it. There is a ton of seating inside and outside. We came on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and there was plenty of room and the service was quick.

Updated Review – June 27, 2025 After getting a response to my original review from The Meteor, I reached out to the email they provided. I was given a $40 gift card, which I used on my return visit. This time, I ordered the seasonal “El Amarillo” pizza, and it was super cheesy and really tasty. I also got the Meteor Burger with fries which were honestly my favorite. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were well seasoned. For drinks, I had the lavender matcha, which was just as good as the vanilla one I tried before. I also took the GM’s recommendation and ordered the hibiscus tea with honey. I liked it more than the green tea from last time, and although I usually prefer my tea a little sweeter, it was still good. I still believe the food is on the pricier side, but considering the area, it makes sense. Overall, I had a much better experience this time. I really appreciate the customer service and I’m looking forward to going back again soon. —————————————————————————— May 2, 2025 Arguably the worst “pizza” I’ve ever had.. The Meteor is overpriced simply because of its location and vibe. It’s definitely a cute place to hangout and get some work done but the food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the Maglia Rosa pizza, which apparently only comes with a tiny sliver of cheese and is covered in flour. Eating this was like eating bread covered in sawdust and spicy marinera. Their jasmine green tea was just okay after adding 3 packets of Splenda to give it taste and their matcha latte with vanilla was probably the best thing, although it was nothing out of this world. Very disappointed that this was my first experience. Check it out at your discretion.
