Congregation Coffee
240 Pelican Ave, New Orleans, LA
Crema's Take
“Congregation Coffee feels like a genuine neighborhood sanctuary where the espresso is pulled with real intention—strong, bitter, and unapologetically good—paired with an atmosphere that honors both the rushed commuter and the lingerer with equal grace. Whether you're ducking in for a quick pour over or settling in for hours, the genuinely friendly staff and that perfectly timeless New Orleans vibe make this westbank spot feel less like a coffee shop and more like a place where you actually belong.”

Day 4 of our annual New Orleans trip brought us to this coffee place of worship, Congregation coffee! The coffee was the right amount of strong and bitter to go with that oh so good chocolate chip cookie ! Little toffee crunches on a crusty bite with lots of chocolate! A big win for afternoon snack!
Stopped by for a coffee while my car was getting some minor service. This place is a cozy and relaxing option for a coffee and pastry if you find yourself on this side of town. So much quieter than all the coffee places I’ve been to on the other side of the river. Prices are very reasonable and the staff were friendly.
I really enjoyed this spot! The staff was friendly, and it’s a great place to sit for a bit or grab something to go. Definitely one of my favorite coffee stops on the westbank especially after a run on the levee.
I'm not a coffee drinker! However, my friend had a latte and said it was very good. I had iced tea and bacon quiche and they were both excellent! This place is very popular and can have a fairly long line at times. I didn't have a long line when I arrived, but by the time you left there were probably 10 to 12 people in line. Several people came in with baby strollers so it is kid friendly.
This is such a perfectly, New Orleans-coffee- shop-atmosphere! It has that essence of all your favorite coffee shops (timeless and cross-generational yet still perfectly the spot for the young and solidly entrenched for the elders). The food was amazing. The service was perfect. It is cost and filled with light. There are all these different spaces to sit and work that seem to call to different personalities... The window benches definitely call to a certain type. The interior invites conversation and also the calm needed to do work. I definitely recommend it. Fully recommend! The neighborhood is quiet and historic. There is original artwork on the walls (for sale? No idea). It closes at three, but for those who work early and shift gears in the late afternoon, they would plan to congregate here. 🌞
