Crema's Take

This Burbank bakery is a masterclass in restraint and craft, where Armenian and Georgian owners honor traditional techniques with a three-day sourdough fermentation process that yields bread with serious depth of flavor. Beyond the exceptional daily loaves, their croissants have earned them a devoted following among LA event planners and catering professionals who depend on their consistent freshness and delicate balance of buttery layers and subtle sweetness. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where passionate baking meets genuine hospitality—less Instagram theater, more honest excellence.

I’ve been to a lot of bakeries in LA and this one really stands out. The sourdough has that perfect crust and chewy interior, and the pastries are balanced, not overly sweet. The pistachio croissant and the carrot cake roll are both must-tries. Everything tastes fresh and made with real ingredients. It also has a cozy neighborhood feel, which makes it easy to sit and enjoy your coffee. Definitely one of the best spots in Burbank.

We order their croissants for all of our catering and parties, and they never disappoint. They always make them fresh and warm for us, which makes such a difference. Hands down, the best croissants in LA!

I’m an event planner, and I’ve ordered from this bakery countless times for my clients’ celebrations — and every single experience has been exceptional. Their pastries are always fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious. The service is warm, reliable, and incredibly professional — they truly go above and beyond every time. Whether it’s a birthday, a baby shower, or an intimate gathering, their baked goods always become a highlight of the event. I’m genuinely impressed with their quality, consistency, and attention to detail. Highly recommend this bakery to anyone who values amazing food and flawless service!

This is the best bakery in the Valley and one of the best in SoCal/LA. The owners are Armenian and Georgian, they make the sourdough breads fresh daily after the 3 day rising process. The flavors I’ve tried are the house, multigrain, white, cheddar and jalapeño, olive and thyme, and cranberry and walnut and they’re all delicious. No sugar added! Yay! I also tried their chocolate chip cookie which is scrumptious too. This is my new weekly spot. I’m so glad that I found it. There’s also a lovely atmosphere that’s great for casual dates or meetings. The customer service is wonderful too. They always remember me whenever I stop by.

**4.6/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Crust Artisan Bakery San Fernando: Valley’s Hidden Bread Heaven** Tucked in a sleepy **San Fernando** strip mall off Maclay, **Crust Artisan Bakery** is the sourdough sanctuary the Valley didn’t know it needed 🥖💎. Owner-baker Alex (ex-SF Tartine alum) fires up the deck oven at 4 AM—by 7, the scent of **levain** and browned butter leaks into the parking lot like a siren song ☁️🔥. The **country loaf** ($8.50) is a masterpiece: blistered mahogany crust that *cracks* like thunder, open crumb so tangy it tingles, holds up to avocado or just straight butter 🧈. Grab the **everything bagel** ($3)—hand-rolled, boiled, baked with seeds that cling like glitter; schmear it with scallion cream cheese for $1.50 more 🥯. Pastries? The **twice-baked almond croissant** ($5.75) oozes frangipane, the **kouign-amann** ($5) caramelizes into buttery armor 🍯🥐. **Savory game strong**: **porchetta sandwich** ($13) on rosemary focaccia—juicy pork, crackling skin, arugula, balsamic onions—eaten in my car because I couldn’t wait 🚗. Coffee? **Verve** pour-over ($4.50) brewed to order, no burnt drip nonsense ☕. **Only quibble?** Weekend lines snake out the door by 9 AM—order online night before (pickup 7-11 AM) 📱. Parking lot’s tight; circle once. Prices lean upscale, but every crumb justifies it. **Gluten-free** options (chia loaf) are legit, not afterthoughts. Crust isn’t just bread—it’s **therapy**. I drive 30 mins from Studio City weekly. Pro tip: snag the **chocolate babka** ($28 whole) before it sells out. San Fernando, you’re welcome.
