Crema's Take
“Victory Roll is a board game-themed café where the real magic happens over unhurried hours spent with friends and family, surrounded by an thoughtfully curated selection of games and genuinely welcoming staff who make you feel like part of their community. The coffee pairs beautifully with their "epic" food and pastries, creating the kind of place where you lose track of time in the best way possible. Built by owners who clearly care deeply about creating belonging, Victory Roll feels less like a transaction and more like stepping into the living room of people who actually want you there.”

Such a fun and UNIQUE place!! 💪 The board game selection is great, the friendliness of the staff was super inviting and my whole group will absolutely come back for more of the epic foods! Also you can hold their CHAMPION BELT if you win your game [or finish your whole meal like a champ] 🍔
Went here for the first time yesterday and was absolutely delighted. After popicon wrapped up this year, our group went to try out Victory Roll after hearing there was finally a board game themed cafe in the area. When we went in, what first struck me was how roomy it was, how bright and fun the vibe was, then the size of their game library selection. We took a seat, ordered coffee, then after looking through the menu we selected a few appetizers and entrees. We were told the majority of the items are made in house, there's a local baker who supplies some of the desserts, and that the coffee came from a small supplier in Florida! I ordered a caramel latte, others ordered Italian sodas and plain coffee. The coffee was robust but so smooth. I usually have to add a lot of cream and sugar to tolerate how bitter coffee is but I didn't add or change anything about my latte because it was perfect, creamy and not too sweet! Even the black coffee tasted smooth. The Italian sodas were creamy and sweet, so we had high hopes for the rest of the meal. The appetizers came, which were the Poutine Pierogi and Pretzels with Cheese. The pierogi were perfectly two bites, you could tell by the dough it wasn't the frozen kind. The gravy was a rich brown sauce that perfectly paired with the potato stuffed Pierogi. The pretzels were exactly what our group looks for, chewy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The beer cheese they serve with the pretzel complimented it deliciously. Our main dishes were the Monte Cristo, the Chicken Parm sandwich, and Cheese burgers. The Monte Cristo was painting worthy, fried to a perfect golden color and enough food to make even the hungriest soul happy. The Chicken Parm sandwich was crispy, cheesey, and flavorful. We ordered ours with fries and got lovely waffles fries served, but they also have the option for chips. The burgers are smash burgers, which are the best kind of burgers. We were told they're pretty flexible about toppings and the selection was well rounded. 3/4 of us had to take food home because we were so full. For dessert, we had the option to order some in house baked goods from a local baker, but most of them were already sold out as we came late in the day and close to closing time. They were also out of a few lunch options were out for the same reason, but we were able to still order food that knocked our socks off. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly bites to go, and was able to enjoy what a treat they were later after my stomach had a chance to rest. All of this is to say I very much look forward to going back and trying more menu items. We didn't even crack open a board game, but next time I will definitely plan for that. Now, if you're going there to board game then you should know - it's $5 with food or drink purchase per person to rent from the game library, they have several rooms that have themes in which you can reserve for a group, including a kids area - and they even offer to teach or help you set up games as well. If you're looking for a cool new place to scope out, I highly recommend Victory Roll. It has the space, the vibe, and the food to back up the hype. I met the owner and staff, who were all very knowledgeable and welcoming. Finally, a local board game themed cafe that has good food and isn't cramped!
Practically perfect in every way!! We are a huge board game family and this place just feels like home to us. We had great food and great service. Shout out to Lisa who made us feel welcome & geeked out with me as she showed us around the place, and to Dan who made some of the best fries and chips I've ever had and a legendary Monte Cristo. I could keep going but honestly if you're into board games and want something to occupy time with your peeps check this place out soon!!!
My son and I drove 3 1/2 hours to be here on opening day and we could not have asked for a better experience. Jeff and Ruby are the most down to earth people I have ever met. The staff from top to bottom were extremely accommodating, friendly, and just made you feel a part of the family. If we did not live so far away, we would definitely go more often, but even though we can’t, we definitely will be back. Please support these guys…. they are amazing human beings and I wish them nothing but the absolute best and success for their business and their family. BTW, the food is great. The atmosphere is great and just someplace that makes you feel like you wanna hang out whether you’re eating or playing a board game. Good luck you guys and we cannot wait to see you again!!
I’ll admit, I was star-struck when I first came in. I have been a fan of Dori and Jeff for a long time, but I am now also star-struck by their amazing food, the amazing atmosphere, and how well Victory Roll is put together. It is a chill environment, and you always feel comfortable. I will be a regular here going forward. I was excited to be there on opening day; you made it a great experience. I also love how every server is your server; you get to meet so many great people who will have genuine and unique conversations. It is a great place to be when so many other restaurants feel less social. This is the place to be! -William Brumley
