Goddess and the Baker, 44 E Grand
44 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL
Crema's Take
“Goddess and the Baker is a bustling neighborhood gem where specialty lattes like the Cinnamon Date Cacao rival the pastry case, and the cozy, inviting atmosphere makes it easy to linger over breakfast or lunch with friends. The kitchen balances creativity with approachability—think French fries that rival fast food chains and caprese paninis with melted cheese and chunky chicken—while staff like Sabrina bring genuine warmth to the experience. It's the kind of place where a first-time Chicago visitor becomes an instant fan, drawn in by the energy and kept by the care poured into both the coffee and the food.”
What to expect
Strong matcha and tea selection, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

Wonderful service, delicious food, cozy and inviting atmosphere. The breakfast sandwich and date cheesecake were amazing! Sabrina helped us and was so helpful and nice! Definitely a must stop while you're in the area!
Came with a couple friends while visiting Chicago for my first time and had a fantastic time! I had the Hashbrown sandwich and the Cinnamon date cacao latte. Both were excellent! Would recommend for the atmosphere, food and photo ops. 🤩🥰
