Crema's Take
“Tucked into the LINE Hotel lobby in Koreatown, this spot pulls off that effortless LA cool with a genuinely caring team that actually listens to feedback. Their espresso-forward drinks strike that sweet spot between robust and refined, and whether you're grabbing a quick matcha or settling in for a full breakfast, the clean, efficient operation keeps things moving even during the rush. If you're hunting for a coffee shop with real personality and baristas who treat your order like it matters, this is the kind of place that never disappoints.”

Clean space, smooth matcha, and that perfect LA vibe. Alfred never disappoints.
This is a review for THE MANAGERS AT ALFRED. I really want to thank the Alfred managers I encountered today. Whenever I give feedback, they genuinely seem to care and actually offer steps to address it, which I truly appreciate. While I'm not a fan of how higher-ups penny-pinch things like skimping on matcha, resulting in drinks that taste overly milky or fruity while still charging nearly $7 for a cup of coffee, the managers here are incredible. Today, I had a series of freak accidents, and their kindness honestly made my day. When I first came in, about half of my coffee was missing. I called the store and really appreciated that I spoke to a real person, not AI chat support. They told me to come back and happily remade my drink. They made me a beautiful hot coffee... which I then promptly dropped on the ground. Mortifying. Instead of making me feel bad, they were so kind and reassuring, and they made me another cup without hesitation. I'm truly sorry this all happened, but their warmth and understanding meant so much to me. This experience honestly makes up for the times I've felt disappointed by Alfred's coffee. Thank you for being such great managers, and more importantly, for being good people.
This well-regarded coffee shop is in the Line Hotel lobby in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The coffee beverages offer a robust flavor profile complemented by a subtle acidity. The menu includes various pastries, gluten-free and vegan options, and light meal choices such as burritos, bagels, and sandwiches. The ordering process is efficient, with drinks typically prepared within a few minutes. Additionally, a spacious seating area in front is shared with the lobby bar, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
I'm a crackhead for caffeine, and I'm slowly getting back into cafe hopping. This spot was across the street from where we just dined. Parking: Every man for themselves. Paid metered parking in front or paid parking garage in the back. Follow the signs to public parking. Complimentary 3 hour parking. $5 + service fees after 3 hours paid via online. Ambiance/Environment: This coffee shop is located inside the lobby of the Line Hotel. The lobby area is large with plenty of indoor seating. Very clean and modern inside. They also have limited outdoor seating. It was pretty busy when we visited. Service: The cashier that assisted us was knowledgeable about the menu and even asked us questions before giving us recommendations. The barista was extremely quick and efficient. He made the drink while I was ordering lol. Drink: I ordered their featured drink - Cloud Cream with espresso, plant-based coconut foam, and organic whole milk. This drink definitely felt light like a cloud. The foam gave it a very, slight coconut taste. The coffee was sweetened from the vanilla. If you like your coffee light and slightly sweetened, then this is perfect for you. Pricing: $7.50 for 12 oz .. I knew LA was expensive but oof. I'd probably visit once in a while if I'm ever in the area again.
Nestled in the lobby of the LINE hotel, this coffee shop is a hidden gem worth discovering. While it can get busy, the line moves swiftly thanks to the efficient and friendly staff. The cleanliness and tidiness of the place are evident, creating a welcoming ambiance for patrons. But it's the quality of their coffees that truly steals the show. Each cup is expertly brewed, delivering a rich and flavorful experience that keeps customers coming back for more. Overall, my experience here was fantastic, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. If you're in need of a caffeine fix in a stylish and convenient setting, this coffee shop at the LINE hotel is the place to be.
