Crema's Take

The Plug nails the vibe of a neighborhood third place where baristas actually know their craft—think maple cardamom lattes and dirty chais that taste intentional, paired with genuinely excellent pastries like their standout lemon loaf. The space is intentionally small and intimate, which means it's perfect for a solo coffee moment or quick meetup but not ideal if you need to camp out for hours. If you're in Washington Heights and want somewhere that feels genuinely welcoming rather than Instagram-polished, this is your spot.

Cute little coffee shop in Washington Heights. Smaller inside, so might be a little tough for studying sometimes. But great pastries and highly recommend the dirty chai or shaken espresso.

My go to spot for Cold Brew and Iced Matcha. Awesome chill vibes and great recommendations from the Baristas. Def get something from the Tina Skate Shop and take a pic of the tiny living room! Reminds me of Tek Deck

The barista was kind enough to let me try the bodega brew before I purchased the beans. I already had two cups of americano by the time I dropped by The Plug, so we had a hot chocolate and a chai latte, which were both excellent.

I love coffee spots like this where people behind the counter make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! This is a cute little spot with couple chairs inside. Coffee and lattes are good. It's only 2 blocks from Columbia hospital so their coffee is fantastic alternative to…
