Crema's Take

This neighborhood gem in Houston wins hearts with genuinely kind staff and a thoughtful menu that goes beyond standard coffee shop fare—think perfectly balanced matcha lattes and surprisingly stellar kimchi grilled cheese alongside seasonal creative drinks. The cozy, low-key vibe makes it equally suited for solo laptop work, book clubs, or families with kids, though you'll want to arrive early or be flexible with parking in their small lot. It's the kind of place where regulars clearly feel at home, and where the coffee itself is executed with real care.

Cute place, not busy at noon on a Saturday but, probably would be for breakfast. Parking is hard to find, parking lot is small but, free. Street parking but, full with locals. Free wifi with info displayed. Lots of seating indoors and out, umbrellas too. Small menu but, everything is local made or sourced. Known for their smoked brisket taco, lived up to the hype. Served hot, great filling to taco ratio, wonderful smoky flavor. Choice of salsa, mild to spicy. Also ordered the lox on bagel. Generous amount of smoked salmon, toasted sesame bagel and the usual accompaniments. Everything fresh, not old. Would probably order to go and eat in the park nearby if weather permitting..was sunny but windy today and chilly.

This coffee shop is so nice. The staff is so kind and the coffee hot or iced is very delicious. I had book club here twice so the atmosphere is great and will definitely come back. The staff was ok that I ordered an iced latte on a very cold day lol

Such a great spot! My drink was amazing. The matcha wasn’t too sweet, just the way it’s supposed to be! The kimchi grilled cheese was top tier 🤤🤤 My friend got one of their seasonal drinks, and it literally tasted like an apple! We both loved everything. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu! 🍵🧀🍎

Active Passion Coffee is such a gem in Houston! I came on a day when they had a halal menu and couldn’t resist—I got everything along with a few drinks, and everything was absolutely delicious. The cookie butter iced latte was next level, easily one of the best I’ve had. Service was warm and friendly, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Inside there are only a few spots, but the huge backyard and patio make it perfect for relaxing with friends or just enjoying the outdoors. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!

Great neighborhood place for breakfast/lunch and coffee. They have a little kids sections with games and books which makes it easy if you have kids. It’s order at the register vs a sit down. Once we walked in they did greet us but there was an awkward interaction. There was a person that was making some coffees and seemed like she might have been either the owner or manager but wasn’t in the best of moods - understand the place was busy but she was being a bit rude to some of the employees which made it awkward for us when ordering as we could hear the whole thing first hand. I feel more bad for the employees. Her mood was a bit different once the orders calmed down. The campfire cold brew was good it’s basically a mocha cold brew with a vanilla cold foam and graham cracker crumble on top. It was pretty good. The french toast was also good. Comes with 2 toasts and some whipped butter on top and side of berries. The lox bagel by the looks of it looks tasty. It had a healthy filling of smoked salmon, cream cheese, onions, dill, capers and cucumbers. It’s quite filling plus the arugula salad makes it worth the price. The flavors are ok - it’s not the best or the worst lox bagel you will have but it does the job so no complaints.
