Crema's Take

Braking Cycles pairs thoughtfully crafted coffee with a quirky, welcoming atmosphere anchored by a striking penny-covered floor and a mission-driven community focus that gives the shop real character. The staff consistently earns praise for their warmth and attentiveness, making it an ideal spot to linger over a cup with friends or settle in with your laptop for a few hours. Fair warning: this is a shop with a spiritual bent and strong values, which shows up in small ways like messages on cups—something to embrace if it resonates with you, or know going in if it doesn't.

The owner/ or an employee (taller middle aged white man) crossed the street with trash found next to the shop and threw it on the ground in the middle of the sidewalk. That’s so disgusting and not how community members should behave. Will not go back.

Went here 12/4/25 for the first time and got the message "All you need is jesus" written on my cup. I am not religious and I'm not sure if this is a religious coffee/bike shop but i'd like to keep jesus as far away from my vanilla latte as possible

Cute little shop with yummy coffee that helps the community - what more could we want? Very kind staff and a relaxing vibe. We went on a Wednesday morning when it was pretty quiet and basically had the place to ourselves. Nice music too. :)

Had a coffee and conversation here a few days ago with friends. First the coffee was great, but more than that this place is really interesting. The floor is covered in pennies of various shades that make patterns. We were told that you could see them better through the lens of your phone camera and that appears to be true. In the back there is a bike shop. The not-so-secret to Braking Cycles is that it helps fund a nonprofit that helps youth get off the street and into housing. What an excellent way to spend a few bucks on coffee.
