Crema's Take

Cafe Dolce in Liverpool has built a devoted following with its welcoming, thoughtfully decorated atmosphere that feels perfect for lingering over coffee or meeting a friend, though quality can be inconsistent depending on who's pulling the shots. Their pastries and desserts—particularly the cheesecake and gelato—seem to be the real stars, and they've clearly invested in creating signature drinks like their "silent coffee" that go beyond the standard espresso menu. Fair warning: consistency with specialty drinks and pricing are pain points for some, so come with an open mind and maybe stick to their baked goods if you're particular about your coffee.

Asked for a cortado, should be 2oz of espresso and 2oz of steamed milk. $5.05 for the wrong drink. I got this bubbly looking 12oz latte? Tasted bad too, whatever coffee the use isn’t very good either. Also went to study and there’s no wall plugs for studying so that’s sad, love the decor the atmosphere but not good for students trying to study or for the lovers of good coffee.

Enjoyed my first time there. Didn't have anything to eat - but the coffee was good! Would like 18% or heavy whip cream as an option. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean and had that 'certain something' that makes you want to go back. A friend & I were visiting and were in a book with a full booth across from us who were really visiting & happy & it was wonderful, except, we could hardly hear each other. Have no expectations for others to tone their volume down or for Dolce to move the seating... just an experience of the set up in a busy place that the volume is high. A quieter option is Gusto.

This was my first time here today, and I am happy I came! My friend and I had a "silent" coffee, which was nice and I would recommend trying it! The place was cozy, well decorated, lots to choose from, great prices, friendly staff, little to no wait, music was quiet enough, and the overall experience was absolutely lovely! Thank you staff!!

This place is really busy and people seem to love it, but the owners could really do better. The drinks are low quality and high priced, and the music played in here is way too loud. The lights are dim but the music is way too loud to actually sit down and have a relaxing experience. The matcha was so low quality that it made me sick. The baristas and employees are really nice, though.

2024: unfortunately didn’t like their iced chai latte but bbq panini was so delicious loved their cheesecake and gelato too 2025: tried their lemon cheesecake 10/10 this cafe is perfect for quick grabs, but what makes it special is the patio. love sipping cold coffee on a hot summer day. highly recommended for thunder bay people.
