Lighthouse Coffee
199 S Turnpike, Santa Barbara, CA
Crema's Take
“This Santa Barbara gem has won over locals with genuinely skilled espresso drinks—their Gibraltar, cappuccinos, and honey lavender lattes all hit the mark—paired with surprisingly excellent pastries and light bites like cucumber toast and hearty breakfast sandwiches. It's a spacious, no-frills kind of place that attracts the laptop crowd without feeling pretentious, though fair warning: parking is tough and you won't find cushy chairs to sink into. The baristas are genuinely warm and attentive, making it feel like the kind of neighborhood spot where regulars keep coming back for both the coffee quality and that peaceful, welcoming vibe.”

When I lived on the Mesa it was my go-to coffee shop. Lots of space, No soft chairs, difficult to park, and always filled with millennials working on their computers! Good smooth lattes!
I visited Lighthouse Coffee today and had their breakfast sandwich along with the cucumber toast. Both were delicious — the sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the cucumber toast was fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. The ambience inside is warm and inviting, making it a nice spot to start the morning. The coffee was good, though the flavor could be a bit more balanced to match how great the food is. Overall, a very pleasant experience and definitely a place I’d return to.
Went twice on the same weekend. Had a Gibraltar (cortado), cappuccino, honey lavender latte, and a drip coffee/black and all were good. The breakfast sandwich, lox bagel, and acai bowl were also all tasty and well made with good quality ingredients. In particular the salmon/lox was great and not even a hint of fishiness that often happens when breakfast places leave some of the dark meat in it. Has plenty of seating inside and out, and ample parking. Indoors they have acoustical panels on the ceiling that cut down on the noise from lack of other soft surfaces in the room, a nice touch. Prices reasonable for coastal California/Santa Barbara.
I can't help but gush about Lighthouse Coffee on the Mesa! The Mesa is home to me and you will always find me there! From the moment I stepped foot into their charming coffee shop, I knew I had found my go-to matcha that I simply can't live without. Their welcoming ambiance, combined with the soothing aroma of freshly whisked matcha, instantly puts me in the perfect mood. Every visit to Lighthouse Coffee is an absolute delight. The baristas are not just skilled in crafting the most exquisite matcha beverages; they genuinely care about their customers' preferences, ensuring that each cup is perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Whether it's a classic matcha latte with expertly frothed milk or a delicious cup of coffee, their dedication to quality never disappoints. All in all, Lighthouse Coffee has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. I love bringing my laptop and getting some work done 🏡📑 while I sip my yummy matcha 🍵😋
A wonderful and peaceful little spot to grab a morning latte and exhale a bit. Baristas are friendly, kind, and skilled. I had an almond croissant - it was delicious!
