Crema's Take

Caffè Ladro's Pine Street location strikes that sweet spot between serious espresso craftsmanship and welcoming hangout space, with baristas who consistently pull silky, velvety shots that shine in their cappuccinos. The rotating seasonal drinks and quality pastries give you reason to linger beyond your commute, though fair warning that the cozy vibe comes with Seattle prices and service that can be hit-or-miss depending on who's behind the bar.

Ok I love indie coffee shops so I can’t believe I’m giving this place a 1-star but some of the people working here seriously need to get a job in a different industry. Yesterday I got a coffee and scone here and I ordered a cold brew. When I was going out the door with the order and took a sip, the wrong flavor came out. I wondered at first if they put sweetener that I didn’t ask for in it. I went back, also worried that maybe this was just how the coffee from this place tastes, like maybe they have a weird bean or a weird brewing method or something. The person pouring sheieked at me “you ordered a white chocolate- do you not WANT it??” I started wondering out loud if they confused my order with someone else’s but she was already throwing the drink out, and pretty violently poured a cold brew, said is whole milk ok and I said yes (its not but it didn’t seem like I could say otherwise) and she gave me the coffee like I had done something wrong- like really as though I had done something wrong in that situation. I left kinda shaken. Today, I went back, because I really needed a coffee for during the convention. I should not have come back. The line of 8 people took 30 minutes to get to through, I made sure to ask for cold brew with regular milk. I waited another 15 minutes for the drink, and it had no milk. I asked where milk is, and the one pouring drinks pointed back to the line, as though to say I’d have to wait another 30 minutes, and said “you have to tell us when you order.” Thankfully she poured the milk, again like I’d done something wrong. I visit many, many coffee shops and I don’t think I’ve had such bad customer service maybe… ever? Not going back.

Caffè Ladro downtown on Pine Street is a solid coffee stop. The space has a nice, cozy vibe and it’s a great place to sit and relax or take a break while walking around downtown. Coffee was good and well made, and service was friendly. Not mind-blowing, but definitely a reliable spot if you’re in the area and want a good cup of coffee.

They always have interesting seasonal drinks, and the baked goods and breakfast burritos are good - pricey but worth it usually!

Consistent coffee and made well. Loved my cappuccino and how smooth and velvety the froth was. Their espresso is smooth and creamy. The barista who served us two days in a row was welcoming and very friendly! She even made my nieces drink special for her birthday; including whip cream, sprinkles, and writing a special message on her cup. We were served quick and enjoyed sitting outside to people watch.

We came for a coffee, and the place isn’t anything extraordinary, but it’s fine. It’s more of a café to buy coffee to go, not to stay and drink there. We tried a chai tea and a mocha, and they were good, but we bought a banana bread and they gave it to us in a bag. We sat at one of the four small tables, and we had to clean it because it was dirty.
