Mr West Cafe Bar
2685 NE Village Ln, Seattle, WA
Crema's Take
“Mr West Cafe Bar excels as a laid-back neighborhood spot with genuine charm, offering both specialty coffee and wine in a naturally lit, plant-filled space that feels equally welcoming whether you're settling in for hours or stopping by for a quick drink. The self-serve model keeps things efficient and casual, though consistency seems to be an issue—reviews are split between praise for their coffee quality and food classics like avocado toast, and frustration with kitchen execution and slower service during busy times. If you're in the University District looking for a flexible, atmospheric place to work or unwind with a solid espresso drink, it's worth a visit, just manage expectations around food quality.”
What to expect
Specialty coffee. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast and light food on the menu. Open late.

food and drinks were both just okay - took forever for both to arrive because baristas were chatting and not actively making drinks. it took over 30 minutes for avocado toast (not pictured bc we didn’t wait for it to arrive for our photo)
We were really disappointed with our brunch here. The bread was bland and lacked any real flavor, and the nuts in one of the dishes tasted rancid, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. Unfortunately, both of us experienced bad diarrhea the following day, which raised concerns…

We chose this café for a laid-back evening drink, and it was a great pick. Mr West delivers a cozy, stylish space filled with greenery and natural light. It’s perfect for grabbing coffee or wine whether you’re coming solo or with friends. We tried their veggie sandwiches and…
Avocado toast was really good - great coffee as well, it takes a self serve sort of service model - which I thought works out very well especially in the university area. It also opens way earlier than anything else in the U village, good place for grab a quick breakfast and…
