Tabor Bread

Crema's Take
“Tabor Bread is a wood-fired bakery where sourdough is king—their loaves and pastries showcase exceptional flour quality and traditional baking that keeps sourdough enthusiasts coming back. Beyond the bread, they offer thoughtful breakfast sandwiches like the Belmont and seasonal brioches that pair perfectly with their traditional coffee drinks, making it an ideal spot for lingering over breakfast or grabbing something special on your way. Just know their portions run small and their sourdough-forward approach means everything carries that distinctive tang, which won't be for everyone but delights purists.”

Really really delicious! We got the Belmont breakfast sandwhich, the loksmith and the seasonal brioche. All were very yummy. The seasonal brioche is a bit bready, but once you get into the cream and pear toppings it’s divine. It has seating, but not a lot. Very cozy atmosphere. Only downside is it’s quite expensive, but it’s all locally sourced etc. would definitely go again! Has lots of gluten free options if that’s your journey.
It's too expensive, plus the "service charge" that I don't know what it's for, means I won't visit the bakery again. The bread is delicious, but too small, their bagel is similar to the size of a croissant. The bakery concept is wonderful with interesting grains, but they can't be so expensive that one small loaf is $13!
Their sourdough is the best I’ve ever tasted. We got sourdough and Breakfast Sausage Brioche to go and Belmont Breakfast for dine in. Sandwich was very delicious. The salad was too sour for me. There was a line when we went even it was on weekdays. Luckily, it moved fast. You may want to go early to secure the goodies. Since their prices are going to higher end, the downside is whether you buy to go or dine in, the automatic 15% gratitude will be added. It is ridiculous!!
If you are a sourdough lover you will probably love this place! But I am not and I wish I knew they used sourdough for pretty much everything (or so it seems). Got a baguette and it had strong sourdough flavor. The croissant and pain de suisse also seemed to have a sourdough base… I just didn’t really want the sour taste and wish they would have let me know which pastry uses sourdough and which doesn’t. Who knows maybe all of them do. Also prices are pretty high as is… auto 15% is wild!
This might be the best bakery/boulangerie in Portland! The quality of their flour and wood fired baking truly speaks at every bite. We have tried both savory and sweet pastries along with the baguette - all 10/10. What is more, their espresso drinks are phenomenal and true café quality. The staff is very welcoming. All in all it’s a must go bakery in Portland.
