Crema's Take

Hudson Roastery is a lively neighborhood spot in Schenectady where regulars and their dogs converge for thoughtfully crafted lattes—the staff clearly knows how to balance milk with espresso, and they're adventurous with options like pistachio milk. The airy, well-designed space strikes that rare balance of being both relaxed and buzzing with activity, making it equally suited for a solo pour over or meeting a friend, though expect the food to be a pleasant complement rather than the main event.

Great little cafe. Nice and lively with customers and staff. Good coffee. Had a breakfast sandwich with ham and avocado and it was ok - but not great. Had almost no flavour. Needed salt and pepper or something. They could add a standard BLT with egg and good ham to the menu. I think that’s what might drive more sales for them. I’ll be back for sure.

This is an adorable bakery and cafe that has incredible lattes! They offer oat, almond, soy and pistachio (!!) milk, and the lattes are perfectly balanced between sweet and flavorful. My partner really enjoyed the pastries as well.

Good place for breakfast. Not a lot of seating. Seems like they have a lot of regulars or the staff is just really good at remembering people. They give flower shaped cards and gel pens for kids to draw on. Gravalax was pretty tasty.

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is just right, people, dogs and who knows what else come in. The coffee is always hot and tasty. The food, unique and tasty. Healthy portions and clearly using premium products as the flavors say it all. Don’t put this visit off, get there and enjoy every minute of it.

The two stars are strictly for the food. The café space itself is beautiful—spacious, relaxing, and well-designed. I live in NYC and have been to countless coffee shops. I ordered a pistachio milk cold brew and a slice of the chef’s special banana bread. I was really looking forward to the banana bread (you can almost never go wrong with it), but this was honestly the worst I’ve ever had. Extremely dry—my very first homemade attempt years ago was better than this. What made it worse was the price: $16.50 for just a coffee and a slice of dry bread. For comparison, I had a full-size, freshly made pizza at a sit-down restaurant for $17. The atmosphere is lovely, but the value and quality of the food are a complete letdown.
