Edda Coffee Roasters

Crema's Take
“Nestled across from the historic West Side Market, Edda Coffee Roasters pairs expertly pulled espresso and pour overs with some of Cleveland's most comfortable seating and genuinely stellar pastries (the sea salt chocolate chip cookies are a standout). The minimalist, spacious atmosphere strikes that rare balance between a serious coffee destination and a welcoming refuge where you can linger without pressure, making it equally perfect for a solo recharge or a lengthy meeting.”

Stopping by Edda Coffee Roasters was a cozy little highlight of our trip. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee, the warm atmosphere, and a chance to relax and recharge made it the perfect spot to pause between all of our busy days of volunteering and exploring. ☕✨
Across from the historic West Side Market. Edda Coffee Shop has the best comfortable seating of any coffee shop in the Cleveland area. For $5 even you can get two large cookies, February 2026. They do not charge for refills and there is not a minimum for credit cards.
Before even coming in to the cafe, I had to circle the block twice looking for parking before I settled on parking at the West Side Market lot across the street. Then I come inside and see that they have a seat-yourself arrangement and order using these QR code scanners. I'm not a fan of QR code based ordering systems, but I looked around for a seat anyway and settled on one of the few open tables. It was covered in crumbs (gross!) but there weren't a lot of other options so I swept them off real quick with my sleeve and took a seat. Then I tried to scan the QR code with my phone. There was some kind of problem with the code and it kept taking me to a broken web page. Luckily I'm not easily intimidated by tech, and after a few minutes of fiddling, I eventually found out that if I manually copy-pasted the web address into my browser instead of using the phone's built-in "Open in browser" option, then it would take me to the actual site and let me order. Oh and they still expect a tip for their non-existent service, with the lowest option being 18%. I ordered a latte, a breakfast burrito, a pancake, and some cookies. Despite having to go through this painful QR code ordering process, they don't actually bring everything to your table. They bring food orders to you, but not drink orders, so I still had to go up to grab my coffee and cookies. In the five seconds I was away from my table to grab my stuff, some guy swooped in and took my table. As ridiculous as this sounds, I did briefly consider finding a new table before remembering that my burrito and pancake would be brought to that table. So I went up to the guy and let him know that was my seat, and luckily he was nice about it and left without a fuss. Now on to the food. The breakfast burrito was quite good and had a nice kick to it. Everything else, the coffee, pancake and cookies, was pretty much average. I came here hoping to have a nice relaxing breakfast and coffee and found the whole thing to be so frustrating I could barely enjoy my food. I don't often write bad reviews, but this was too much to ignore. My advice to the owners - fix the broken QR code links, bring the coffee to me so I don't have to play musical chairs with my table, and have someone wipe down the tables every now and then. 1/5 Customer Experience 3/5 Food 2/5 Overall
Spacious place in the heart of downtown Cleveland with a minimalist touch. Coffee is excellent. I tried a Cortado and the serving of coffee/milk was perfect. However, the cookie was too sticky-sweet for me. The atmosphere is friendly but I wouldn’t recommend for small meetings since the tables are too small. It works better for 1:1 interviews or laptop work. They have a lounge-style couch area for friends gathering. I would definitely visit again for a good cup of coffee if I happen to pass by.
very clean and pretty place. sea salt chocolate chip was amazing. drinks are overpriced, but good, not anything special, but good. slightly bitter coffee. oat milk is the only non dairy option, and it's a $1 up charge! i got a small drink, so about 1/4 cup of oat milk was $1... that's absurd when people with dairy allergies have no other choice. great to work, study, have a date. full cocktail bar.
