Just A Pinch Bakery
630 E 29th St, Loveland, CO
Crema's Take
“Just A Pinch Bakery has earned serious devotion from Loveland locals for their exceptional kolaches that rival even Texas standards, with perfectly balanced traditional fillings like apricot and prune alongside creative options like green chili egg. The warmth here runs as deep as the pastries—regulars rave about being greeted with genuine smiles and the kind of customer service that makes you feel like family, plus you can call ahead to skip the morning rush. Pair that with their full breakfast menu and you've got a beloved neighborhood spot where the food is clearly made with care and the people behind the counter treat every customer like they matter.”

My opinion: Great food, no doubt. BUT, and it's a big BUT, I am going to stop going. Too many drives, waits with no choices while it is still early (9:30am) in the morning. It's great: IF you live close AND get there by 8am. There are numerous reviews here about this problem over the years and I guess they just don't care, because it is always the same. Get here early or don't come. Honestly just have your hours 7- 9:30am so the folks that think they are going to get good stuff mid morning just know not to come. A couple of constructive things that could really make this place much better and worth the drive and line wait ( in hopes that owners read this and all the other reviews with similar issues.) Look, I get it, it's a small business with down home feeling, but when there are 20 people in line waiting, maybe a just a pinch more "efficiency" is called for. Most importantly- letting the customers know you are out of the popular stuff (regular sausage/cheese and the jalepeno) in a way they can decide if they want to wait in line for 20 minutes for other less popular items. The 8X10 sheet with 10pt font that you can only see if you are at the register is poor customer service for those waiting. (Or maybe make a lot more so you are not out of items at 9am when your hours are 'till 2pm. ) Y'all have been growing for years, and I love ya, but maybe it's time to step up the game a bit for those of us that drive 30 minutes from FOCO, wait in long line, only to be told we are out at 9am. Currently it is faster/more reliable to go to Buckeys. You are basically telling us not to come after 9am. Is that the model? Please help me avoid Buckeys! /s/ Born and Bred Cen-tex Czech
Kolaches are amazing. Perfectly proportioned fillings (traditional favorite apricot, prune, apple) have the right ratio of fruit to filling + pack flavor over sweetness. Dough is akin to a rich challah, spot-on slightly dense and chewy, slightly sweet + hint of yeast. Poppy seed are as good/better than you'll find in Czechia. Savory options are true to Texas. Give them a try, they are delicious, to see if it's your thing.
Specialty sausage kolache was perfection. Same for the sweet strawberry. If you’re in Loveland don’t miss out. These fresh delights are almost the same price (maybe less) than a fast food breakfast sandwich and they are a billion times better.
I have lived in Texas my whole life, so I’ve had my fair share of kolaches. I can honestly say these are the best kolaches I have ever had. They have amazing non-meat options (green chili egg, mushroom brie, pizza...YUM). The owners are so kind and the shop environment is warm and welcoming. We love coming here!!
