Sidecar Coffee and Bake Shop
200 N Craig St, Pittsburgh, PA
Crema's Take
“This cozy North Oakland spot nails the comfort factor with a quirky, friendly atmosphere that's equally suited for a quick pastry grab or lingering over work—their house-made baked goods, especially the standout vinegar pie, are worth the visit. Fair warning: their oat milk has been a divisive point across reviews, so dairy or black coffee lovers might have a smoother experience, but the lovely interior and full breakfast menu make it a genuinely chill place to settle in and spend time.”

A really nice place for a cup of coffee and some pastries. I recommend the vinegar pie, it’s delicious! Mood is friendly and quirky!
Unfortunately, this is easily the worst coffee I’ve ever had. I wish I had read the reviews more closely as others do mention how terrible the oat milk is. (And no, it’s not because it’s unsweetened. It’s foul.) The espresso was also over-extracted. It was also served in a chipped glass. Otherwise, the baked goods did look good (I did not try any, and there didn’t appear to be nondairy options) and the space is nice. I imagine if you get a drip coffee and a baked good you would have a much better experience.
Great cafe with lovely food and drinks! The coziness of the interior makes it a great spot to relax, study/work, and hang out! Plus, the pastries all look amazing, especially the pies, but I’d also recommend the breakfast sandwich, which was one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile! The egg is super fluffy and the cheese they use went so perfectly, every bite was addicting. Definitely will be coming back to try some of their pastries, and a crowd favorite especially for students, love it!
This is a great place to study & get work done! The atmosphere is nice. I’ve been here 3 times. Their oat milk lattes don’t taste great. Tbh I don’t really like them, but that’s probably because I have an acquired taste for the coffee that I enjoy. Their treats are yummy! The sad part is there is nothing dairy-free on the food menu :(. Would recommend this place of you need to get work done.
Cozy new coffee shop in North Oakland! Ample seating and plenty of food and coffee/tea options to choose from. A lot (if not all) of the baked goods and breakfast sandwiches are made in-house, and the coffee is from La Prima. Barista was very friendly and engaging as well! I was very happy to see they had homemade yellow cake with chocolate frosting—that’s hard to come by! That with a black coffee were perfect for a winter day like today. Hoping to try the cinnamon rolls next!
