Crema's Take

Their Elotito—a corn-forward coffee drink with real tortilla flavor—is genuinely distinctive and worth trying, and paired with Beacon Doughnuts and thoughtful service from staff who clearly care, it's one of Chicago's most authentic neighborhood spots. The branding and vibe are charming, though some drinks can feel more conceptual than balanced if you're ordering off-menu creations. If you're in the area and want coffee that tastes like something real rather than trendy, go.

What to expect

Espresso-focused, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu.

Lovely coffee with an authentic feel. Elotito is top tier as it is bursting with flavor and can taste the tortilla within it. They serve beacon doughnuts here too. All in all spent under $14 for the Elotito and doughnut. Worth the trip if you're out here

Best coffee shop in Chicago for many reasons, but I ask you to go for yourself to see why. I’m blessed to live a couple blocks away. Paloma is extremely kind, genuine and provides quality service. Kind community focused people. Much love always!
