Texas Western Cafe
1900 Wiggins Rd, El Paso, TX
Crema's Take
“This campus-adjacent cafe is a reliable spot for traditional Tex-Mex breakfast and lunch, with devoted regulars swearing by their huevo con chorizo and chile relleno burritos. It's genuinely laptop-friendly and quick, making it popular with UTEP students needing to fuel up between classes, though reviews suggest the execution can be inconsistent—some find it worth the price for convenience, while others feel let down by cold, flavorless offerings. The vibe seems to be more utilitarian grab-and-go than destination coffee shop, best appreciated when you need something familiar and local without fuss.”

Working on campus, this place always comes through. My go to’s are the huevo con chorizo burrito with beans for breakfast and the chile relleno burrito with beans for lunch. I could’ve sworn they had the chile relleño available in the mornings before but now it’s after 11am. Anyway, the burritos are quite hefty and they are delish. I’m close to finishing my burrito and I am so pleasantly full. I definitely recommend.
Very expensive for the food quality
The food here is far too expensive to justify stopping by. Whenever I take a bite of a burrito made here Minecraft cave noises go off in my head. But with the pitiful food choices at UTEP, it could be worse. I'd recommend just waiting in the long line at Chick-fil-A.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but I believe they help the restaurant in the end. Breakfast Burritos were cold and no flavor.
