Marys Coffee Shop
905 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Crema's Take
“This neighborhood Brooklyn spot excels at generous, fresh Latin American–inspired breakfasts and lunch options that keep locals coming back, with an all-day breakfast menu that includes standouts like breakfast burritos and perfectly cooked eggs at prices that feel like a steal. The vibe shifts gracefully between quick coffee grabs and lingering sit-down meals, making it equally welcoming whether you're rushing out or settling in for a meeting over strong coffee and homemade food. Fair warning: service quality can be inconsistent, but when things flow smoothly, the warm, family-friendly atmosphere and quality cooking shine through.”

Their food is great don’t get me wrong but their service sucks. Especially the lady answering the phone she’s the worst. Something is always wrong w my order, even though she makes me repeat myself like 5x over the phone & whenever I have a question about something it’s always no. I called beforehand to make sure my delivery guy had change. And he didn’t, there I was in my pjs where the delivery guy is saying no one told him anything & there I was running to the store on one of the coldest days :) so food is great HORRIBLE SERVICE. I’ve ate in person as well & the same lady answering the phone took years to com to my table mind you the place is so small it’s not like she didn’t see me.
Absolutely delicious food at a great price. Even though they were super busy, the service was great and fast. They even found a way to make room for us. I got the two eggs any style with hashbrowns and corn beef hash. It was amazing. In total for a very large meal I spent about $15. I will be coming back.
This small neighborhood café serves Latin American–style food (I’m not entirely sure from which region), but what stands out is how fresh everything tastes. I’ve been here twice so far. My first visit was for morning coffee and a quick breakfast. The coffee was decent, and I ordered eggs, salami, and pancakes to go. The eggs were scrambled and cooked a bit on the well-done side, the pancakes were fine, but the salami was missing from my order—which I didn’t go back to correct. My husband, however, raved about his lunch here, calling it one of the best meals he’d had in a long time. That brought us back the next day for lunch together. We tried their rice combo meals: white rice with stewed beans, plus a choice of meat. He had a chicken dish cooked with spices in a curry-like style—flavorful, aromatic, and not overly spicy. I went with pork chops, which were tasty but a little greasy and over-fried, making them slightly tough. My husband also mentioned the pork stew he had on an earlier visit was excellent. We added a fresh salad, though it wasn’t quite as crisp as I’d hoped. This is a tiny, family-run café, so don’t expect polished service, but they put a lot of effort into what they do. The food is fresh, hearty, and flavorful—especially the chicken and pork dishes. I’ll definitely return for those again.
Neighborhood Coffee shop that caters to local clientele. They have ‘Breakfast All Day’ and some really good options for Lunch and more, a pretty diverse menu with lots of Choice that are Central and South American. Ordered a Spanish Omelette with Hot Sausage on the side and Wheat Toast. REALLY GOOD and filling / hearty. This isn’t the type of place You go to for Ambience but for the good food and cooking. Service was good and they were polite and kind. Definitely coming back here to try some more breakfast options…
Was going through Google to find a good breakfast place in brooklyn area and stumbled upon Mary's coffee shop and ordered the breakfast burrito plus waffles with beef bacon and let me tell you since I arrived in NYC this was my first good experience food wise, everything tasted fresh and was actually great, a place I can definitely come back to again to try something else. Totally recommended!!!
