Crema's Take

Tucked inside a Carson City casino, Tee Jay's Corner Cafe is a delightful surprise that draws praise for its authentic Indonesian and Southeast Asian cuisine—think expertly crafted pad thai and fried rice that locals say rivals anything in Reno. The small crew genuinely cares about making your visit special, taking time to explain the cultural roots of dishes and deliver generous portions with thoughtful sauces that elevate every bite. If you can look past the ambient casino smoke, you'll find a cozy neighborhood gem where regularity turns into loyalty.

Thrilled I got to try such amazing Indonesian dishes! The crew was kind, attentive, and our meal arrived fast with interesting notes on its cultural roots. Portions were generous, and the sauces on the tray were rich, tasty, and quite unique. I’ll gladly return on my next visit to Carson City!

Incredible flavors, comfortable atmosphere, and the best staff! We will come back to try everything on the menu! New favorite place in town! It was easy to try something new because they were eager to explain different ingredients without judgement for my lack of ability to handle spice

Was passing through Carson City and this got recommended. Absolutely delicious I had the phad thai with chicken. Only downside is the cigarette smoke from the casino, but if you can deal with that it's totally worth it, and if you can't get it to go!

My friend recommended this place and decided to give it a try. There are only few places here and in Reno that serves a really good fried rice, this is one of them. I have also tried the street-style fried chicken and it reminded me of home. I will definitely go back to this place.

We were driving through Carson City when visiting Lake Tahoe, so we decided to stop for lunch. This spot is inside of a casino which was the only downside for me. Casinos don't bother me, but I don't love being around smoke. You can always get takeout though. My husband and I shared: - Indo Burrito - Krakatoa Cheese Steak - Fried Banana & Coconut Ice Cream The Krakatoa Cheese Steak is one of the best things I've eaten this year. It was a mess, but you won't care with how good it tastes. We also loved the burrito and would happily try anything else on the menu. I was sad that the fried bananas came covered in chocolate sauce (not listed on the menu) because I really don't like chocolate. I ate around it as much as I could and they were still amazing. This was hands down the best place we ate while in Tahoe. It's a bit of a drive, but I would do it just to eat here.
